The large, bright, OLEDdisplay allows the data to be easily read and is mainly symbol based, rather than text. The display does not need a backlight and can be viewed from greater angles than LED screens. Oxygen levels can be indicated by the PurgEye Site gas analyser in parts permil- lion (ppm) or percentage, depending on user preference. Flow detection ensures accurate reading of gas samples, along withablocked filter iconandpower on/off witha standbybutton for sensorwarmup. The small, low volume, almost inde- structible case, can be carried anywhere and the PurgEye Site used either with its internal battery, which lasts up to 10 hours, or connected to a 90 to 250 V, single phase ac mains electricity supply. Byusing thePurgEyeSite, welders can ensure non-oxidised, zero colour welds areachieved regardless of conditions. The monitor eliminates guesswork, prevents the need to clean or grind welds and ad- jacent surfaces and saves considerable costs by preventing the unsuspected loss of argon gas. www.huntingdonfusion.com “Whilst developing our Large For- mat Technology, we continue to focus on sales of our SFPs and, with a strong presence in a number of markets, we look forward to updating the market with our progress,” he adds. Weartech is based in Wadeville, just outside Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Founded in 1984, Weartech has a global reputation for excellence in the supply of specialised welding, thermal spray and other specialty products. The first of Aurora Labs SFPs to be launched into the region by Weartech is the Titanium Pro, a cost-efficient metal 3D printer that offers a large range of material options, including: stainless steel, Inconel 625, Inconel 718, NiBSi, titanium, bronze and Maraging steel. Capable of near net-shape printing, these systems significantly reduce the post processing required to finish a part. The S-TitaniumPro SFP is capable of printing in two different modes: Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) and Direct Metal Laser Melting (DMLM. As well as offering the S-Titanium Pro, Weartech will also be distributing metal powders for printing, spares, maintenance and training, making Weartech a one-stop 3D printing-shop. auroralabs3d.com: weartech.co.za

HFT® have designed a virtually non- destructible weld purge monitor to work accuratelywithin extreme environments. The PurgEye® Site is a guarded oxygen monitor protected by a secure, safe, waterproof, dustproof and very tough carry case. Ron Sewell, Chairman for HFT says: “This tough, robust monitor has been specifically designed for on-site condi- tions. With the housing case open the monitor is IP65 rated and IP68 rated with the lid closed. The PurgEye Site measures oxygen levels very accurately from 1 000 ppm, right down to 10 ppm. Themonitor has a fast response, long life sensor and it is equipped with Pur- geNet™, allowing the monitor to connect to a variety of accessories. One of the ac- cessories, an automaticweldingmachine interface, allows controls to be based upon the oxygen level, toprevent welding if that level is too high. Other accessories include a traffic light visual indication system and a temperature gauge. bution rights to Aurora’s small format printers (SFPs) in South Africa. In ad- dition, Weartech has been granted a non-exclusive distribution license in the 14-member countries of theSouthernAf- rican Development Community (SADC). As part of the agreement, Weartech will have responsibility in all of these coun- tries for sales, warranty repairs, servicing and training on Aurora’s SFP equipment, as per all of the company’s other major distributors. The agreement with Weartech in- cludes the supply of a demonstration printer and opens up a number of potential opportunities for Aurora in new markets, while strengthening the company’s geographical reach. Says Aurora Labs MD, David Budge: “We welcome the highly credentialed and experienced distributor, Weartech, to our distribution network. This agree- ment gives us a foothold in the vast Southern African market without hav- ing to develop expensive infrastructure in the region. Weartech has established relationships with buyers of 3D printers in Africa and will promote our SFPs to

Purge monitor for on-site conditions W elders often face difficulties when working under the conditions ex-

perienced on-site. When welding critical joints in such situations, the challenges might come from working at height, exposure to extremes of heat or cold, harmful sand and dust and even hazard- ous fumes. Therefore using an expensive Weld Purge Monitor® in such conditions may not always be ideal.
