Kemppi X8 redefines multi-process industrial welding

K emppi is currently launching its X8 MIG Welder, a multi-process welding solution for future-proof indus- trial welding. Developed, designed and manufac- tured in Finland, the solution is enabled by the newest IoT based technologies and connectivity. With new technol- ogy, Kemppi redefines performance, usability, and welding management for demanding industrial MIG/MAGwelding applications. With its focused and intense arc, groundbreaking user experience, up- gradeablepower source, digitalWPS fea- tures and integration with the WeldEye welding management software, the X8 MIGWelder lets youperform, control and manage welding production in a way that has not previously been possible. The X8MIGWelder is amulti-process

software, and a wireless control pad for total welding control. The X8 MIG Welder’s powerful and precise welding arc allows for impres- sive welding efficiency and quality. The X8MIGWelder’s intelligent power source and five available ‘Wise’ processes and functions guarantee optimised arc char- acteristics for any welding application. In addition to high speed and alu- minium welding (WiseFusion), the excellent arc characteristics include narrowgap (RGT), root pass (WiseRoot+) thin sheet (WiseThin+) and low spat- ter welding in globular transfer mode (WiseSteel). This accuracy is available at up to 600 A of welding power. Every aspect of the X8 MIGWelder is

system for MIG/MAG welding, stick (MMA) welding, MIG brazing, cladding, and heavy-duty gouging. The solution consists of Kemppi’s unique high-duty and upgradeable power source with an innovatively designed wire feeder, ergonomic welding guns, intelligent Laser processing – any material, any process designed tomeet the best usability prac- tices. It has never been faster or easier to change the systemandwelding settings or to adjust and control welding values. The wireless control pad allows the welder to easily find the relevant WPS, view the content on the large 5.7-inch display and activate it to start welding. With this most advanced multi-

process welding system, the future of welding has arrived and is available in South Africa through AR Industrial Supplies. www.arindustrial.co.za Every aspect of the new Kemppi X8 multi-process MIG Welder is designed to meet the best usability practices.

C oherent supplies the widest range of lasers and laser-based systems to empower a huge spectrumof materials process- ing applications – virtually any material, or any process. This range of capabilities was on display at LASYS 2018 in Stuttgart, where two new high-precision systems for cutting and welding froman enhancedmaterial processing product platformwhere also introduced. Incorporating intelligence, integration and interconnectiv- ity, this enhanced product platform is optimised for today’s materials processing challenges. For example, intelligent de- sign and engineering ensures ease-of-use and consistency of performance, irrespective of the application. The results are lower defect rates, higher product quality and increased yields. Integrated features, such as parts commonality and identical convenience elements across the platform, speedmaintenance and reduce the training burden. Interconnected operations puts vital system information and control at the user’s disposal, whether that’s a single installation, or a complex production line. Integral to Coherent’s laser portfolio is theHighLight® series, which offers solutions for industrial manufacturing processes requiring high power. A new addition to this extensive line is

the HighLight DL-Series of 19- inch rack-mount diode lasers with 4.0 kW fibre delivery for brazing, heat treatment and cladding applications. Also on display was the newEasyMark, a versatile, low maintenance and economical desktop marking system that addresses a wide range of marking applications. OEMs and system integrators

are empowered with the Monaco, a femtosecond laser that enables cutting-edge micro-processing for microelectronics production. The AVIA is a short-pulse UV laser for applications such as drilling PCBs and flexmaterials, 3D chip packagemanu- facturing and wafer scribing. In addition, an innovative new fibre laser-welding package offers an all-in-one solution, including a high-power fibre laser, scanner head, vision system and software. www.coherent.com
