Welding and cutting

With more than 70 years of experience in welding tractors, ESAB has launched Versotrac, the most flexible and versatile tractor on the market. Versotrac: a conquering welding tractor

U sing input fromreal life experiences of welders all over theworld, ESAB’s new Versotrac user-friendly welding tractor is designed primarily with sim- plicity in mind. An entirely new and intuitive EAC10 controller ensures ease of use. This simplified interface includes all the functions needed for tractor and other light-automation applications, making more room on the display for other important functions such as real- time heat input so weld quality can be easily monitored and controlled. The control pendant lets users change set- tings from a comfortable position. Versotrac can be seamlessly set up – without the use of tools – for almost any type of welding. The new welding head makes it easy to change between SAW and GMAWwelding processes. The

modular components can be rebuilt, which extends the unit’s capability for welding a multitude of different appli- cations. Three- or four-wheel configu- rations ensure maximised stability for different surfaces. Nomatterthepreferredpowersource, Versotrac will be able to be powered. It canbeusedwithboth inverter-basedand conventional dc and ac power sources, including high-productivity ESAB Aristo 1000 ac/dc power sources. An analogue interface also allows the unit to be con- nected to analogue SAW power sources, however, includingoldergenerationESAB SAW power sources and other brands. Versotrac is a truly modular welding tractor that can be taken anywhere. Its rugged, modularised components can be disassembled into smaller units to

PA and PB positions using an argon/CO 2 gas mixture with 5-15% CO 2 . Coreweld 69 LT H4 is available from stock or to order in wire diameters of 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 mm and customers can order 16 kg wire baskets or Marathon Pac™ bulk packs. ESAB is a recognised leader in the welding and cutting industry. From time-honoured processes inwelding and cutting to revolutionary technologies in mechanised cutting and automation, ESAB’s filler metals, equipment, and ac- cessories bring solutions to customers around the globe. www.esab.co.za ESAB’s Versotrac user-friendly welding trac- tor has been designed using input from real life experiences of welders all over the world. carry into confined spaces and then reassembled in minutes. Ergonomic handles make it simple to adjust the welding path and to get going with minimal effort and time. ESAB’s new welding tractor can take on demanding jobs in the toughest environments. Its robust wire feeder can weld deliver wire of up to 5.0 mm in diameter, with an output current of up to 1 000 A at a 100% duty cycle for heavy-duty welding. In addition, twin configuration feeders are available for even higher productivity. The unit’s advanced ergonomic wire handling systemhelps reducedowntime when changing wire. A newwire bobbin holder and built-inmemory function for the wire feeding system result in faster than ever changeovers that enable the unit to get back to work faster for in- creased arc time. Metal cored wire with very low diffusible hydrogen E SAB, a world leader in welding and cutting technologies, has launched Coreweld 69 LTH4, ametal-coredwelding wire for high-strength steels. Benefiting from very low diffusible hydrogen, this new wire achieves a yield strength of 690MPa or greater and excellent sub-zero toughness down to -60°C.

Very low diffusible hydrogen is vital for avoiding hydrogen-induced cold cracking and ESAB’s new 69 LT H4 consumable meets the requirements of AWS H4 and ENISOH5,evenafterexposuretohightem- peratures and humidity. The wire is also CEmarked to indicate its compliancewith EN ISO 18276-A: T 69 6 Mn2NiMo M 2 H5. In common with other ESAB metal- cored wires, Coreweld 69 LT H4 is charac- terised by smooth arc transfer, resulting in minimal spatter and silica on the weld surface, as well as awide arc that reduces the risk of defects caused by lack of fu- sion. Coreweld 69 LT H4 is suitable for spray arc transfer welding in downhand

Suitable for manual, mechanised or robotic welding, Coreweld 69 LT H4 performs extremely well when fabricat- ing components for applications such as cranes and lifting equipment, mobile machinery, chassis and bodywork for commercial vehicles, load handling equipment, hoppers and containers.
