Orbitalum agency for South Africa appointed

C omplete solutions for high-end requirements in tube andpipeweld- ing preparation for a range of industries are now available locally from Dowson & Dobson (D&D) Industrial, a division of Actum Industrial. D&D Industrial has been appointed as the exclusive South African distribu- tor for Orbitalum Tools, a global leader in orbital tube, pipe preparation and orbital welding technology for indus- trial piping systems, prefabrication and maintenance. Orbitalum Tools is part of the ITW Welding Group, a global leader in welding products with brands includ- ing: Miller Electric and Hobart on the welding machine side; TIG torches and accessories from Weld-Craft; welding consumables and gas equipment from Hobart and Elga; and automated weld- ing equipment from Jetline. Actum Industrial was awarded the agency via Orbital Cutting & Welding of Dubai, which represents both EH Wachs and Orbitalum. The company is looking to make inroads into the South Africa market. Applications for Orbitalum equip- ment, under the brand name Orbimat, range from process plants processing ultra-pure media for industries such as semiconductors, electronics, phar- maceuticals and biotechnology, the chemical, food and beverage industries, aviation and aerospace technology and shipbuilding, through to the energy sec- tor – power plants, refineries and the oil, gas and petrochemical industry – and utilities – water and gas supply, heat- ing, air conditioning and cooling and sprinkler systems. “The Orbimat range of welding equipment is ideal for the South African market,” says Actum Group director, Greg Barron, adding: “Representing the latest technology, it is also user-friendly and lowonmaintenance, whichare criti- cal factors in a low-skills environment such as Africa. “We will be targeting the agricul- tural and food and beverage sectors in particular, which represent an exciting

new market for Actum Industrial. This is in line with our strategy to continually diversifywith new reputable brands into different sectors,” Barron notes. Actum Industrial encompasses industrial products, instrumentation, pneumatics and professional tooling.
