The new models provide sound versatility in the 2, 5 t to 2,9 t size class. Typical applications include streets, bike paths, courtyards, patchwork, parking lots, driveways, town centres and shoulder work. Bobcat B730 backhoe loader for all trades

The economic comeback of sub-Sahara Africa and positive market opportunities in South Africa are reflected in the number of companies that have already signed up for the upcoming bauma CONEXPO AFRICA, organisers say. The third international trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles will be held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in South Africa from March 13 to 16, 2018. Elaine Crewe, CEO of the trade fair organiser BC Expo South Africa, is pleased with the applications thus far. “We have already attracted industry leaders including Associated Asphalt Equipment, BAUER, Bell Equipment, CLT - Crane Load Technology, Doka, GEDA-Dechenreiter, HANSA-FLEX, Hiab, Husqvarna, Hytec Holdings, ITR Africa, IVECO, Layher, Masa, MB Crusher, Pan Mixers South Africa, Pilequip, Putzmeister, Scaw, Shantui, Wirtgen, XCMG and ZF Services. We are also looking forward to having DEUTZ Diesel Power and Powerstar for the first time. We are going to have an impressive line-up of the entire industry at the trade fair.” A large number of international pavilions are also being planned for bauma CONEXPO AFRICA 2018. China, Finland, Germany, North Ameri- ca and the UK have registered. Portugal and Singapore will also have a pavilion at the trade fair for the first time. “This clearly shows the impor- tance of bauma CONEXPO AFRICA for international companies,” Crewe says. Frank W. Reschke, sales director and a member of the Board of Man- agement at Masa, underscores the key role played by the trade fair. “For us there is no comparable trade show, no other international trade fair in Africa for Africa. bauma CONEXPO AFRICA delivers on our expectations.” Brian van Buuren, MD of ITR Africa, agrees: “The previous trade fair was an incredibly successful show for us and the professionalism shown by bauma CONEXPO AFRICA allowed us to showcase our products and enjoy the success we continually strive for.” b

The B730 from Bobcat Equipment South Africa is a versatile backhoe loader that can be configured for a diverse range of job applications, from digging, trenching, to breaking and materials handling. The B730 is ideal for both small and large contractors with high expectations in terms of machine reliability and service, which is a prime focus for Bobcat Equipment South Africa, according to product specialist, Jan Stansfield. Other target markets are municipalities and local utilities such as water and telecoms. Applications include construc- tion, roadworks, maintenance, small demolitions, excava- tions, landscaping and agriculture. “Enhancing the versatility of the B730 in particular is the 100 hp engine under the hood,” says Stansfield. The standard 4,4 ℓ , four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine delivers power for demanding applications. In addition, operating costs are reduced as the powertrain has been proven through rigorous testing to guarantee reliability and uptime,” he says. All models have an open centre hydraulic system, with a tandem gear pump in the B730. An unloader valve and elec- trohydraulic differential lock are standard across all models, while the B730 also features a limited slip differential. b
