Dura launches new 22 t Lovol excavator in SA

Local distributor Dura Equipment Sales has launched the new Lovol FR220 excavator in the highly-competitive medium-sized excavator category in South Africa. Dura believes its value proposition is its competitive price and its quality build, bearing in mind that Lovol excavators are, in fact, made in Japan and assembled in China. According to Dura Equipment Sales marketing manager, Ernest Human, the machine’s frame, metal and main underpinnings are reliable and of superior quality. In addition, it comes with a 6-cylinder Isuzu motor which is affordable and fuel efficient, Kawasaki hydraulics for maximum breakout force and optimum productivity, KYB final drive, among other tried and tested components. Another advantage is that in its standard guise, the Lovol machine is also supplied as a full mining specification machine that meets all safety and performance re- quirements of the mining sector. It is also hydraulically ready to accept any attach- ments such as hammers and drills. “As a result of its features and support SDLG has launched its new B877F backhoe loader for the Middle Eastern and African markets. Available as of October, the F-series, sideshift backhoe loader is half a tonne lighter than its predecessor, the B877, and features a new engine, greater cab space and enhanced cooling capacity, as well as state-of-the-art loader linkage and other improvements. “SDLG backhoe loaders always receive a great deal of interest in the Middle East and

offered throughout the country, we expect that the Lovol machines will be well-re- ceived, especially in the construction, gen- eral purpose plant hire, roadworks, sand and quarrying, as well as the mining sec- tor,” says Human. “For its price, the excavator boasts a wide range of features that are usual- ly offered as optional extras. The cab is

(dipper) depending on the application – in either mass excavation with shorter dipper (stick) for maximum breakout force or the longer stick for effective loading. The standard bucket capacity is 1,1m³. Its modern layout is also designed with ease- of-maintenance a top priority with service points being much more easily accessible for fast and effective services. b

also designed with the operator’s pro- ductivity and safety in mind using a large high-definition dis- play to guide them, as well as ergonomically designed controls for ease of operation. It is also fitted with a safe- ty grid to further con- tribute towards the operator’s efficient and safe usage of the machine,” he adds. The 22 t excavator comes with a choice of long or short stick

breakout force, and it comes with a 1 m³ capacity loader bucket as standard. What’s more, the kinematics have been improved. It is now easier to anchor the machine when using the excavator bucket. It also offers bet- ter control of the excavator arm when repo- sitioning, better stability and more efficient excavating. The new model also features a 55-degree steering angle, providing sound manoeuvrability that is particularly advanta- geous when working in confined areas. “Customers can purchase the B877F with either a multi-purpose or general-purpose loader bucket, together with an extendable or standard arm,” says Sjöstrand. “There is also a wide range of attachments to choose from, such as various sizes of excavator buckets and flip over forks. The B877F can be equipped with additional hydraulics if needed.” Inside the machine, one of the biggest changes comes in the form of a new en- gine. The B877F is fitted with a 70 kW Yuchai, manufactured by Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd. The Yuchai fea- tures the same power as the machine’s previous engine, but it offers much higher torque. The new engine now supplies the hydraulic system with a constant flow, pro- viding the operator with a reliable power supply for extended durations. b

Africa, and for a good reason; they are extreme- ly versatile and efficient machines. Whether you’re operating the loader or the excavator, the new B877F has the power and manoeuvrability to handle almost any job. Those looking for a high-performing, reliable, easily operable and cost-effective backhoe loader need to look no further than SDLG,” says Henrick Sjöstrand, SDLG product manager.
