Shift in forklift demands Over the past two years, South Africa’s industrial equipment and material handling industry recorded its largest markets in history, with 10,724 units in the country in 2021 and 9,828 units in 2022. This is in a market that historically

averaged about 7,000 units a year. This growth is largely due to an increased demand for forklifts in industries such as manufacturing, FMCG and distribution as well as in response to a rise in e-commerce, which grew significantly during the pandemic.
