Liebherr will also use the grand exhibition to present E-learning, a new product for digital mobile crane operator training.

The new LR 1800-1.0 also features the derrick ballast with VarioTray – after raising the lattice boom with the large derrick ballast, part of the ballast can be unbolted quickly and easily. Only a small proportion of the ballast is generally required for hoisting work with the boom fully or almost fully raised. This avoids the tiresome stacking and unstacking of ballast slabs. A new type of ballasting system is used for the suspended ballast – a hydraulically adjustable folding frame allows the ballast radius to be adjusted to up to 23 m. This means that a fixed guiding frame system is no longer required for large radii. New EC-B Series Liebherr will also present a new flat- top EC-B series at bauma Munich. The first units will be available to the global market from April 2019. Three of the eight units are equipped with fibre rope and therefore have ‘fibre’ added to their product title. Fibre rope has a four times longer service life than steel rope and enables fibre cranes to work with a significantly higher load capacity. In addition, handling is noticeably easier compared to steel rope. The first eight units of the new series already cover a wide range of services – from small city to large handling cranes. As a result, the maximum load capacities range from 6 to 16 t and the maximum jib head load capacities range from 1,6 to

was unveiled for the first time at the customer days in Ehingen in June 2018. Liebherr has been providing quality courses and training for many years, both at its training centre at the manufacturing plant in Ehingen (Germany) and also at many of its outlets around the world. Since demand for training and regular statutory guidance is growing, Liebherr has faced up to this demand from the market and created a digital range of training content for mobile crane contractors with its partners. It supports training activities by crane contractors and provides the expertise in compressed form. E-learning supplements practical training on the actual crane and is a contribution to enhancing safety during crane jobs. The new training instrument, whose contents do not just apply to Liebherr mobile cranes, is available in German and English. The main benefit of the e-learning tool is that crane contractors can provide their employees with annual guidance and advanced training as well as professional qualifications at any time and regardless of their location. Armed with a personal access code, the mobile crane operator can study the training modules he wants in his own time, repeat them if necessary and complete them. The system has a progress indicator to make things easier. Each module contains relevant test questions from a pool of 220 questions in total. b

2,8 t – working at a maximum radius. At full jib length, the units are among the largest in their class. The 125 EC-B 6 reaches a proud 58 m. The two largest cranes in the series, the 340 EC-B 12 and the 370 EC-B 12 Fibre each have a reach of up to 78 m. In addition, all cranes are optimised for assembly. When developing the new series, Liebherr also focused on the comfort of crane operators and safety on the construction site: the new LiCAB cabin is significantly larger and also has a greater field of vision. In addition, the new top-slewing cranes have a new, central control element: a multi-touch display. Last but not least, a new design with integrated advertising panels guarantees an improved impact over distance. Particular highlights of the new EC-B series are the 240 EC-B Fibre and 370 EC-B Fibre cranes. They are equipped with soLITE high-tensile fibre rope, which has been developed over a period of 10 years by Liebherr and rope manufacturer, Teufelberger. E-learning Apart from new cranes, Liebherr will also use the grand exhibition to present E-learning, a new product for digital mobile crane operator training. It is a joint product from e-learning production company, Krassmann Produktion GmbH, lawyer Dr. Rudolf Saller and Liebherr- Werk Ehingen GmbH. The new tool
