IN BRIEF
Single or double rear wheels for Hino’s 500 series Hino South Africa now offers the choice of single or double rear wheels on its 1322 four-wheel drive model in the popular 500 Series. This follows requests from operators for this option to suit a variety of off-road applications including forestry, farming, mining and construction, as well as the telecommunications industry. The new model also gets the benefit of being fitted with a Euro 3 compliant engine instead of the previous Euro 2 power unit. The fitment of this common rail fuel injection system to the Hino J08E engine permits the installation of the obligatory speed limiter now required in South Africa. In the case of the Hino 1322 it will limit top speed to 80 km/h. Bidfreight opts for SDLG Babcock’s tailor-made aftersales service and reliable technical support, coupled with competitive pricing, were major deciding factors in Bidfreight Port Operations’ recent purchase of two additional SDLG wheeled loader machines from Babcock. Bidfreight Port Operations (BPO) is one of the largest providers of in-port logistics in South Africa with operations in every commercial cargo port in the country. The company offers integrated port operation solutions to customers importing or exporting in southern Africa. BPO previously purchased SDLG L938L wheeled loaders from Babcock and cites the first-class aftersales service received from Babcock as one of the main reasons for returning to purchase an additional two new SDLG machines.
