MATERIALS HANDLING
Low cost of ownership To lower total cost of ownership (TCO), users of the new range have the option to analyse their hydraulic oil by means of two caps under the boom. This simplifies oil collection, maintenance and reconditioning or dialysis of the hydraulic oil. TCO is further reduced by an optional Stop & Start solution which automatically cuts out the engine when idling. It can be configured from one to 30 minutes, and turns the engine back on when the accelerator pedal is depressed, or via movement of the JSM, without having to restart. The fuel savings are significant, with a maximum of 45% idle over the entire usage time. Construction site safety The three telehandlers can be equipped with the company’s optional Safety Pack, which supports and protects the operator and their environment. It warns on-site teams of movements by the machine with its boom raised, for instance. To avoid inadvertent machine movement, the JSM now detects the operator’s hand to carry out hydraulic movements. A reversing aid informs the operator of people behind the telehandler. Access to the cab is also optimised for risk-free entry and exit. An automatic parking brake with hill-start assist also helps reduce the risk of accidents. Ultra-compact fixed telehandlers The group will launch ultra-compact, rough-terrain telehandlers with a height of 1,9 m and a width of 1,49 m towards the end of 2021. These ultra-light Manitou (ULM) models weigh just 2 700 kg with standard attachment, and can be transported on a standard trailer with no permit required. Revamped articulated loaders Manitou Group is revamping and extending its range of articulated loaders. The machines feature a new design, accompanied by numerous options. Innovations include a reduced width for moving around rough-terrain sites more easily and an optimised hydrostatic transmission for enhanced comfort. The four compact models, MLA 2; MLA 3; MLA 4 and MLA 5, will be connected and equipped with a short arm for greater capacity and a long arm for applications calling for increased lifting height. They will also be available with canopy or integral cab. These new models will be distributed within the dealer network, to renters and key accounts by the end of 2021. b

“We are seeking to harmonise our entire range by making it simpler. By modernising the design and ergonomics of our products, we are now able to offer a single cab across all the models in the range, thus providing excellent visibility to users, whatever the model.”

by up to 18°, to monitor deployment of the boom. This model is also available in an electronic suspension version. Manitou Group will offer a fully-electric extension to the Vision+ range by the end of the year, as well as a hybrid version combining a smaller engine with a lithium-ion battery. Compact fixed telehandlers Manitou is creating a new segment with compact and hydrostatic fixed telehandlers. With three new models, the MT 730 H, the MT 930 H, and the MT 930 HA (with platform basket), the company is responding to strong demand from rentals and dealers for compact machines, with space on urban construction sites becoming increasingly limited. These compact sizes (2 x 2 m), have a broad selection of equipment. In the cab, the intuitive Harmony screen gives the operator real-time maintenance and usage notifications. These three models are easy to transport and can therefore be delivered quickly from site to site. A fork mounting system on the carriage further optimises the length of the machine with attachment, so reducing transport costs. These machines feature hydrostatic transmission and a 75 hp engine to guarantee precise, flexible movements.
