A t bauma 2019, Caterpillar will introduce its Cat D6 dozer, the world’s first high drive electric dozer. Capital Equipment News recently put the machine through its paces at the company’s pre-bauma event in Malaga, Spain, and our reflection is that the range truly sets new standards in the global dozer market. The redesigned purpose-built Variable Power Angle Tilt (VPAT) dozer offers best-in-class grading, while updated technology features help operators to be more

productive from first pass to finish grade. Key talking points include customer profitability, which is enhanced by the up to 35% better fuel efficiency and 12% reduced service and maintenance costs. An all- new cab resets the standard in comfort, while a range of configuration choices helps customers optimise machine performance for needs at hand. At 161 kW and an operating weight range of 21 749 to 24 097 kg, the new D6 replaces the D6T.
