Smith Power adds Cangini to its expanded product range
equipment versatility and utilisation. With that in mind, in late 2017, Smith Power acquired the southern African distribution rights for Cangini’s range of attachments. Cangini is an Italian-based manufacturer of a wide range of at- tachments. There has been a significant uptake of the attachment range thus far, says Tom Bloom, GM Construction at Smith Power Equipment. Bloom says most of the units have been sold to owners of compact excavators, TLBs and skid steers. “We have seen a big demand for the Cangini mulchers, quick hitches, augers and racks,” he says. The range is extensive and includes the 4-in-1 bucket for excavators; AR fast lock; auger; broom sweeper for excava- tors; CR twin lock; Twist 180°; exten- sion arm; jointed brush; mixing bucket safe discharge for excavators; mulcher; multi-screening bucket; pallet fork for excavators; screening bucket; sharp-cut branch cutter bar; single-force & multi- force rippers; sorting grapple; and wood grabs.
The 4-in-1 bucket is suitable for load- ing, unloading and handling operations. Thanks to its hydraulic opening, it is suit- able for various material grabbing, waste discharge control and ground levelling applications. Its safety check-valve allows for safe keeping of the tool, even in case of damage to the pipes or pressure loss in the system. The HB400 reinforcement stripes and cutting edge grant high resis- tance against deformation of the more stressed parts. The hydraulic system is integrated into the body, thus protecting pipes from damage during working. The AR Fast Lock patented quick cou- pler enables fast locking and unlocking of the attachment tools, consider- ably reducing replacement time. The mechanical version is provided with a semi-automatic system that requires manual intervention when the tool has to be released. Both the locking and the safe blocking of the new tool are automatic operations. In the hydraulic version, these functions are managed directly from the cab. b
To remain competitive in today’s challenging economic environment, equipment owners are looking beyond the basics. They are looking at how their fleets of excavators, skid steers, backhoe loaders, among other tool carriers, can squeeze more margins and volumes, and a strong attachment focus is gaining momentum. Attachments are key to
Wacker Neuson appoints first dealer in Limpopo
Wacker Neuson has appointed its first dealer in Limpopo Province, All Power and Lawn Equipment. The dealer agreement will be cemented during a celebratory event in Q1 2019 at All Power’s Polokwane premises. Established in 1998, the company’s primary focus is on the farming sector and offers a comprehensive product portfolio including chainsaws, water pumps, industrial lawnmowers, generators and firefighting equipment. All Power and Lawn Equipment is privately-owned by long-standing owner of multiple Talisman Franchise Operations in the Limpopo region, Shawn Martins. When Martins opened Talisman Hire Polokwane in 2002, it afforded sister company All Power the opportunity to expand its offerings beyond the farming and forestry sectors to include construction, building and cleaning. The new 1 250 m² flagship store in Polokwane, supported by a team of 18 employees, ideally positions All Power to expand its supply footprint in the Limpopo province. “All Power possesses a strong network in the territory with an expansive reach and a primary focus in an industry which complements our brand,” comments Dennis Vietze, Wacker Neuson Sub-Saharan Africa MD. “The company’s wealth of knowledge and experience in the region convinced us that we have found our dealer in Limpopo. The combination of Wacker Neuson’s prime machines with All Power’s over two decades of experience in the province, presents a pioneering power equipment pair to the industry.” “We aim to grow All Power’s customer base and the busi- ness through the recently introduced Wacker Neuson product range,” says Martins. All Power’s current Wacker Neuson range comprises generators and pumps as well as concrete, compaction, and lighting equipment.
