New era in SA’s construction equipment market as Bell and JCB join forces

As part of the agreement, BESSA will distribute JCB’s full construction range, comprising backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, excavators (including compact), telehandlers, skid steers, compaction machines (single drum and tandem rollers) and rough terrain forklifts. BESSA will distribute the product in South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland, as well as Namibia, through its sub-dealer in the country, Hardrock Earthworks. The target market is generally plant hire, construction, mining and forestry.

B ell Equipment and JCB are two household names in the capital equipment market, not only in South Africa, but the world over. Following their distributorship agreement, announced in February this year, the two companies are confident of taking the JCB brand to further heights in South Africa, leveraging each other’s solid standing in the local market. Stephen McNeill, marketing and alliance partner manager at Bell Equipment, believes that the new distributorship agreement bodes well for both brands in South Bell Equipment Sales South Africa (BESSA) is the new official distributor of JCB’s full range of construction equipment in South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland and Namibia, effective May 1, 2021.
