The E-Series Large Truck programme has been in development for the past three and a half years.

WHEN BIGGER IS BETTER Bell Equipment’s E-Series Large-Truck range of articulated dump trucks has rolled off the production line with better payloads,

Increased payload One of the key improvements on the Bell E-Series Large Truck range compared with the predecessor D-Series is the significant increase in payload. Compared with the B35D, the B35E has gone from 32,5 t to 33,5 t in rated payload, while the B40E tips in with 39 t, compared the 37 t on the previous B40D. “During comparative testing between the B40E and the B40D, we found that, taking into account all the variables, the B40E de- livers 7% or more lower cost per tonne than its predecessor, the B40D,” says Du Pisanie. While the B45E maintains the B45D’s ex- isting 41 t rated payload, Du Pisanie believes this is the company’s jewel in the crown. “With increased demand for 45 t trucks globally, the B45E, with its rated payload of 41 000 kg, a bin volume of 25 m³, and a powerful new engine, has the potential to become the most popular model in the range due to its overall value proposition for cus- tomers,” he says. The range goes two steps further with the addition of two behemoths in the form of the larger B50E and the newly launched

increased engine power and several other safety-related features, all translating into increased productivity, safety and lower operating costs, writes Munesu Shoko.

T here is a big trend towards increased preference for larger- sized articulated dump trucks (ADTs) on global sites. To respond to this need, South African ADT specialist Bell Equipment has celebrated the successful introduction of its Bell E-Series Large Truck range, a radical upgrade of the previous D-Series as far as payload, engine power and an array of other safety and operator comfort-related features are concerned. Tristan du Pisanie, product marketing manager at Bell Equipment, tells Capital Equipment News that the D-Series has over the years proven itself, going down in history as an ADT range with one of the lowest cost per tonne of material hauled.

He says the key focus for the E-Series Large Truck line was to further improve on the D-Series benchmark. For that reason, the new range benefits from several key improvements including increased pay- loads, greater increase in engine power, new transmission and a new cab for bet- ter operator comfort, to mention a few. “When you put these things together, we have introduced machines with better cost per tonne moved, a big driver for our customers already operating in today’s challenging economic conditions,” says Du Pisanie. Officially introduced in the global markets last month, the E-Series Large Truck programme has been in de- velopment for the past three and a half years.
