cement bags and a range of building materials around the construction site, while in agriculture, these can be handy when it’s time to move hay bales and animal feed. The simple and reliable gear type hydraulic pump, with a maximum 61 ℓ / minute oil flow, provides maximum backhoe bucket breakout force of 1 985 kg at low rpm. The pump also provides high oil flow for the loader and the auxiliary hydraulic lines, making the machine an ultimate tool carrier. Thanks to the Hydaux System, operators don’t have to hold any button to send hydraulic oil continuously for various optional attachments located on the front. Meanwhile, a quick coupler attachment on the front loader is also standard. More features At the heart of the HMK62SS is the Kubota V2403-M-TEU4 D turbo-charged diesel engine that offers maximum power of 44 kW at 2 700 rpm, as well as maximum torque of 160 Nm at 1 600 rpm. In the powertrain, the variable displacement axial piston pumps are driven by the engine and provide hydraulic flow to the drive motors. The drive motors transfer mechanical power to the wheels by means of high-strength chains for each machine side. The machine is a real 24/7 workhorse because it comes with a ROPS and FOPS cabin that allows operators to work for long hours, unlike the canopy approach on some of the competitive machines in its class size. With safety in mind, a boom lock integrated into the loader arm cylinder helps avoid accidents when accessing the engine for maintenance pur- poses. Meanwhile, the mechanically-driven excavator boom-lock offers safe drive by providing stabilisation of the rear boom when the machine is moving. With ease of maintenance and ultimately uptime in mind, the front hood and grill are designed to be opened easily to minimise downtime during service and maintenance. All hydraulic hoses are neatly arranged and access to them is easy. This shortens the time spent when servicing the machine. In conclusion, Ellis says because the HMK62SS is much affordable than a big TLB, it makes it an attractive proposition for local contractors and utilities. “Since we launched the HMK62SS locally, we have had good reviews from those that are running the machine. Customers are mostly impressed by the strength of both the loader and the backhoe, as well as the power to push and grade, despite the machine’s compact nature,” concludes Ellis. b
