Reliable equipment key to JVZ Construction’s success

One of the Western Cape’s fastest growing civil construction companies, JVZ Construction, attributes a large portion of its success to the procurement of reliable and durable equipment that has enabled it to complete projects effectively and timeously. As a result of its on-time performance and high standard of work, the company has enjoyed unprecedented growth from a one-man show in 2006, to a large-scale contractor with a workforce of approxi- mately 150 staff and capability of under- taking R200-million projects on its own, by 2018. During this time the company has focused mainly in bulk water and sewerage projects, including well-known flagship projects like the recent Paarl Bulk Sew- er projects, 11ML Newton Reservoir in Wellington, 35ML Spes Bona Reservoir in Durbanville, Kleinberg Dam Scheme, as well as a number of bulk water supply pipelines and sewerage works and outfalls within the region. Speaking at a recent construction and farmer’s open day in Wellington recently, founder and director of JVZ Construction, Johan van Zyl, said hard work and part- nerships with the right suppliers had put

the company on a growth path right from the beginning. Their carefully considered advice had also led to the adoption of short, medium and long-term strategies that served to direct future planning and decision making. “ELB Equipment has been a major influ- ence in my business from the beginning when I purchased my first Terex 860 back- hoe loader. The company’s sales represen- tative those days, Abrie Visser and Cape Town branch manager, Gert Mouton, were there with sound advice, a large equipment selection and finance solutions that has helped us to grow,” says Van Zyl.

“Due to the service we received from ELB Equipment and the performance and versatility of the Terex TLB 860 that they supplied I decided to standardise on ELB Equipment wherever possible. As a result, when the business grew and there was a requirement for an excavator, I didn’t hesi- tate to contact ELB Equipment, where Viss- er recommended we purchase one of the company’s durable and efficient Sumitomo excavators. And we have never looked back since then with the Sumitomo’s proving to be among the best excavators I have ever used, with superb economy and durability,” adds Van Zyl. b

SKF offers new Lincoln lubrication pinion

ELB relaunches Gehl into local market

SKF announces the introduction of its Lincoln lubrication pinion LP2 for open gear wheels and gear racks. Complementing SKF’s existing lubrication pinion line, the LP2 features a modular design and the capability to lubricate fast-rotating applications up to 80 rpm. As the lubrication pinion LP2 does not require pressurised air, there is no spray mist to contaminate the environment. Also, higher-viscosity lu- bricants, such as NLGI grade 2 grease, can be applied. When compared to manual lubrication, use of LP2 pinions provides better quality lubrication and reduces costs, labour and the risk of accidents. The modular design enables customers to configure the lubrication pinion to meet specific application requirements. The LP2 is suitable for

The Gehl range is a large and well-known throughout the world and will be in the safest of hands here in South Africa with ELB Equipment,” says Gerber. “ELB Equipment has been distributing Mustang skid steers for 10 years now and will convert to the manu- facturer’s Gehl brand which is the same product manu- factured under a different brand name. This means that ELB will continue to support and provide backup for the Mustang population in the market,” he adds. b
