We do not support an OEMmerely because the sales person is

In 2017 the company acquired 19 P360s in three batches. In addition they own a R500 truck tractor, a R460 and a G460. The company now owns 22 Scanias – with more purchases to come.

likeable. We must be in love with their product. We are in love with Scania and will continue to buy their product.” R460 – I contacted various OEMs – with no luck. We wanted to use it for multiple trailers and wanted the truck to be versatile so that it could accommodate all nine of our trailers. Only Scania was willing to customise the truck tractor – everyone came to the party: the sales person and the bodybuilders. Scania has the interest of our company at heart. They sell you a package that is customised to be a perfect solution for your unique requirement.” As Scania bases its products on a modular system, existing models can easily be changed. For Scania there is no such thing as one size fits all and they maintain that the most successful providers of solutions to the construction industry are those that can tailor to the customer's needs. Ranta says the after-sales services Ditshimega gets from Scania is excellent. “After-sales service is key and we expect, as a company, this to be outstanding. For us after-sales service is a defining factor and was the reason we moved from our original OEM supplier.” Jean Groenewald, the Scania sales person responsible for selling the first Scania to Ditshimega, says that the Scania business values of best business practices, quality management, top-class service and personalised relationships with clients are exactly what Ditshimega Projects needs to maintain its rapid development. Strong. Agile. Robust. Ranta says that Ditshimega is starting to work with Sanral and the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport in its expansion. “Scania is a good partner to have for this as we are confident that we will get a get a thumbs up when we say that we partner with them.” 

Ditshimega Business Because of the assets the company has accumulated, it will be starting a standalone business – Ditshimega Business in 2018. It is a natural part in the expansion of the business and will focus on transport and logistics, waste management, CCTV inspection for sewer lines, and plant hire. Ditshimega Projects stockpiles its large fleet between doing projects and this will be rented out. The aim is to get the new company fully operational between 2018 to 2021. By 2021 Ditshimega Projects will stop loaning assets to the new company as it is envisaged that it will have its own.
