some type of repairs after 8 000 hours of oper- ation. He also notes that the tight economy has forced him to extend ownership of his machines from five to seven years. “Subsequently these machines demand more service and mainte- nance. Downtime is simply not an option for me as I could risk losing projects which means that I rely heavily on excellent after-sales service and rapid delivery from suppliers so much so that I in fact consider service to be even more important than the machine itself.” Lauding the quality of Kemach JCB’s service, Anton says they are unequalled when it comes to after-market service levels and parts turnaround. “Their across-the- board service tenet simply sets them apart in the compact machine industry.” Kemach JCB Eastern Cape branch delivered the four JS305LC tracked excavators complete with 600 mm HD triple grouser track plates, a mono-boom with 2,50 dipper and a heavy-duty 1,61 m 3 HD bucket to Lusthof Civil & Plant Hire only two months after receiving the order. Elmar Minderon, Sales Representative of Kemach JCB Eastern Cape, confirms that they provided all the necessary technical and operator training. “We are responsible for maintenance, service and repair of Lusthof’s entire JCB fleet which includes fourteen 24 – 36t excavators, five TLBs, five 11,5 – 20 t compaction rollers as well as two skid steer loaders with attachments.” Minderton attributes the long-term relation- ship with Anton and his personnel to the young and dynamic Kemach JCB Eastern Cape team. “We have a passion for the product, service and support to ensure customer satisfaction and peace of mind.” JS305 – Productivity and efficiency

mising noise and vibration. The operator can choose from three work modes Eco, Power and Power+ to tailor the machine to suit a particular application. The rotary throttle controller ensures precise control while the large high-grip rubber-coated pedals make for easy and precise tracking. A 70/30 front screen split provides excellent operator visibility. When it comes to service the JS305 is all about maximum uptime through minimum maintenance. Centrally located components ensure fast, easy access. The use of graphite impregnated bronze bushes has reduced the boom and dipper greasing intervals to 1 000 hours for normal applications. Engine oil and filter replacements are required after 500 hours, hydraulic oil change interval is 5 000 hours and hydraulic filters require changing every 1000 hours. The JCB LiveLink GPS monitoring system assists customers in keeping track of the excavator’s upcoming maintenance require- ments. Through this innovative telematics software system cus- tomers are able to remotely manage the machine online via email or mobile phone and conveniently access a range of data including machine alerts and performance reports. 

The tracked excavator is powered by a fuel efficient 6-cylinder 7,2 litre engine with a mechanical in-line fuel pump that produces 165 kW Gross Power. With a massive 222,6 kNm of bucket tear-out and a maximum digging reach of 10 686 mm, these machines are capable of moving huge amounts of material quickly and efficiently. Ultra-reliable and durable, this machine is at home in difficult working conditions taking even the toughest applications in its stride. It’s extreme ruggedness is due to smart engineering and the use of superior quality materials during manufacture such as a re- inforced high tensile strength steel constructed boom and dipper, a heavy-duty lower frame and upper structure and a high-strength arm and undercarriage. All major components are intelligently housed inside the upper structure to protect from damage. The JS305 has been designed around the comfort and safety of the operator making it a great place to work. The ergonomic cab with a roomy floor area sits on six viscous rubber mounts, mini-
