MPUMALANGA CLINIC

Kwikspace Modular Buildings (Kwikspace), sub-Saharan Africa’s leading manufacturer of prefabricated building products together with the Department of Health have, in a highly anticipated rollout, begun the installation of 23 health clinics in Mpumalanga . country after KwaZulu-Natal. The project will supply much neededmedical facilities that will consist of six consultation clinics which will be all be built as permanent structures. Each clinic will measure approximately 250 m² and will have enough space to treat six people at a time. Kwikspace is making use of its new, inno- vative KwikMAX permanent building products for these clinics and is further responsible for the installation of 11 of the 23 medical clinics. The final delivery will fulfil the need for a quick assembly of the clinics as part of a larger national three year programme which will be spread across the whole of South Africa. The robust KwikMAX products are manu- factured using light weight steel framing technology to form structurally insulated panel systems (SIPS). These panels are manufactured

on a large scale in a factory environment under stringent quality control and will be assembled to meet the requirements of efficient medical structures. Comments David van Zyl, Kwikspace’s building systems manager: “The clinics will incorporate much needed medical facilities, which will be a historical improvement. The units will provide access to HIV/AIDS support and general healthcare which will be a great achievement.”
