Print complex labels from a smartphone The BradyPrinter M611 Mobile Printer marks a new chapter in the ongoing evolution of identification labels. Complex labels can now be designed in the field using only a smart- phone and Brady Corporation's free Express app before printing on reliable, industrial grade label materials with the BradyPrinter M611. With Brady's Express app installed on any smartphone, users can design complex la- bels with 1D and 2D codes and barcodes, serialise, use an extensive image library, include text, a time stamp and even data from the cloud. The Express app offers the most compre- hensive label design capabilities available for any smartphone and includes design wizards to create specific identification labels quickly. Label designs can be sent to the BradyPrinter M611 from the Express app on a smart- phone via wifi or Bluetooth for immediate printing. They can also be sent to, or received from computers in the office, so users don't need to design a label from scratch each time. Existing designs can simply be accessed, edited and printed, bridging the gap between the office and the field. Labels designed with any app from the BradyWorkstation app platform are compatible with the Express app delivered with the BradyPrinter M611. The new BradyPrinter M611 mobile printer is compatible with the company‘s wide range of reliable, industrial grade label materials. Able to resist extreme temperatures, fire, chemicals, solvents, fuels, moisture or dirt, the materials are designed to stay attached and remain legible in challenging conditions. They are available in professional label types including wire wraps, self-laminating labels, flag labels, tags and various component labels including raised profile labels with nameplate quality. Having received the German Design Award 2019 in October 2018, the ac charging cables have now also been presented with an iF Design Award. The charging cables for electric vehicles and charging stations were recog- nised in the Automobiles/Vehicles category within the Product sector. The iF Design Award is presented once a year by the world's oldest in- dependent design institution – the iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hannover, Germany. In developing the new range of ac charging cables Phoenix Contact collabo- rated with professional designer Stephan Gahlow from Hamburg. A conscious effort was made to achieve an ergonomic and attractive design, a modern style with an appealing two-coloured appearance, and the use of robust top-quality materials. The ac charging cable convinced the jury of 67 international experts with its outstanding product characteristics. It was selected as the award win- ner from a total of 6375 entries from 52 countries. For the last 66 years, the iF Design Award has been a globally recognised trademark that stands for excellent design. It is an internationally established

Grounding PROFIBUS cable shields The PROFIBUS cable shield consists of a stranded and foil shield to combat the effects of high frequency noise on bus communications. Cable shields are usually connected to ground through the connector housing and the connected device. It is important to ensure that PROFIBUS cable is wired correctly within the connector and that the cable shield makes proper contact with the screen plate inside the connector. In order for the screen to be effective at high frequencies, the screen must be grounded, that is, it must be connected to the common bonding network (CBN), at minimum, at both ends of the cable. With cable shields connected to the CBN at both ends, sufficient shielding against magnetic fields and alternating electromagnetic fields can be achieved. The shields of all cables entering the wiring cabinet should be grounded with clamps as close as possible to the point of entry. This takes high-frequency noise picked up in the field to ground through the cabinet rather than through noise-sensitive PROFIBUS devices. Enquiries: IDX Industrial Data Exchange.
