complexity and risks involved in a plant, and therefore increases its safety. HistoROM – simply unforgettable: The unique data handling concept (HistoROM) ensures maximum data safety before, dur- ing and after a service call. All calibration data and transmitter parameters are stored securely on the HistoROM data memo- ry and are automatically reloaded after a maintenance event. This makes the ex- change of spare parts a breeze and reduc- es the downtime. Enquiries: Frans van den Berg. Tel. +27 (0) 11 262 8000 or email frans.vandenberg@za.endress.com

Prosonic Flow E 100 does not just detect flow. It also detects, the fluid temperature, for example of water in the condensate re- turn to the boiler. This allows for permanent monitoring and controlling the feed water temperature, thus resulting in a much high- er process efficiency in the boiler. Web server – direct data access on-site: The Proline 100 transmitter is equipped with a web server as a standard. Employ- ing a standard Ethernet cable and a laptop, users have direct and complete access to all diagnostic, configuration and device data on-site – without needing additional soft- or hardware. This enables targeted maintenance and service, thus saving time. Heartbeat Technology – for highest operational safety: A further highlight is Heartbeat Technology. Integrated into all Proline devices, this checking function en- ables permanent self-diagnosis, along with extensive monitoring of the values meas- ured, as well as providing a certified and metrologically traceable verification during operation. The operator does not need to be present in the field. This reduces the These magnets transmit a high resolution pulse output. The output signal can be processed externally via a remote display controller or PLC or via a variety of output/ display options available as accessories at- tached to the flowmeters. The positive displacement flow technol- ogy allows for precise flow measurement of most clean liquids regardless of the media conductivity. Other liquid properties also have a minimal effect on the perfor- mance of this type of meter. Flow profile conditioning is not required as with alter- native flow technology options making oval gear installations simple to install in tight spaces and at an economical price. The DOE finds application for all vis- cous, non-abrasive clean liquids like fu- els petroleum, diesel, oil, grease, pastes, chemicals, inks, and water. It is also able to accurately measure (+1% of reading) the fuel consumption of small aircraft, motor boats and mobile power generators. Stain- less steel flowmeters are suited to most products and chemicals, whereas the alu-

Prosonic Flow E 100, an ultrasonic flow- meter in a high-quality industrial design, allows measuring and monitoring industrial water, cooling water or condensate reliably – regardless of conductivity, cold or hot up to 150°C (302°F) or with magnetite often found in closed hot water systems. The robust Prosonic Flow E 100 is made entirely of stainless steel and is perfect- ly suited for long-term operation in rough conditions. Its range of operation generally allows for process pressures up to 25 bar (363 psi) as well as process temperatures up to 150°C (302°F). For the flow measure- ment of water in steam circuits, Prosonic Flow E 100 is therefore the ideal flowmeter. In addition, the ultrasonic flow measure- ment ensures – independent of the prevail- ing pressure and temperature conditions – a high measuring accuracy (±0,5%) as well as a high operable flow range (>200:1). Higher efficiency due to integrated tem- perature measurement: In steam circuits, plant operators place a great deal of val- ue on achieving optimal energy and cost efficiency. As a multivariable flowmeter, COMTEST has on offer an innovative, space-saving device for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) users – Kobold’s DOE oval wheel flowmeter for low and high viscous liquids. Featuring a full stain- less steel body and temperature measure- ment for fuel consumption, the DOE offers different pulse output options including one to measure pulsating flow from e.g. peristaltic pumps. The DOE measures dif- ferent viscosities up to 1 000 cP with an accuracy of +/-1% of reading under refer- ence conditions. Principle of operation Oval gear flowmeters are categorised as positive displacement flow technology. When liquid flows through this type of positive displacement flowmeter, two oval geared rotors measure a constant volume per rotation within a precisely machined measuring chamber. With each rotation, a constant volume of liquid is measured. The rotation of the oval gears is sensed via magnets embedded within the rotors.

minium meters are suitable for fuels, fuel oils and lubricating liquids. An optional measurement of temperature using PT100 makes even high accuracy fuel consump- tion measurements possible. Enquiries: Instrotech.Tel. +27 (0) 10 595 1831 or email sales@instrotech.co.za
