optimum accuracy. With the embedded gas data, the El-Flow Prestige mass flow meters calculate the gas conversion based on the actual gas properties. The easy-to- use software tool FlowTune ® enables us- ers to change the instrument’s configura- tion quickly via computer. Bronkhorst High-Tech is represented in South Africa by sole agent, Mecosa. that for which the instrument is calibrated. This online calculation tool, Fluidat on the Net, is also a valuable tool for physicists who need to calculate fluid properties or to consult the vapour pressure curve. EL-FLOW ® Prestige, Bronkhorst’s high-performance gas mass flow meters and controllers, are standardly equipped with the data of 100 unique gases from the Fluidat database, offering users a high level of flexibility in varying gas type with

Bronkhorst High-Tech BV, the Netherlands, offers its customers online access to its database of gas and liquids properties, recently expanded to over 1 800 fluids. The comprehensive database, called FLU- IDAT ® , is used by the company for config- uration and extremely accurate calibration of its extensive portfolio of flow meters and controllers, and for calculating pres- sure differences, valve seats and other such measurements. Claimed to be the

most complete and accu- rate database of its kind, it is available – at no cost – as an online calculation tool for Bronkhorst cus- tomers who, for exam- ple, want to determine conversion factors when they want to use their flow meter for a gas (or gas mixture) other than

Robust, easy installation flow sensor

The EGE sensor, which includes an LED display for ease of use, can function in temperatures from -20 to +80°C and is ingress pro- tected to IP67 standards. It is suitable for controlling the flow of fluids such as water, glycol mixtures and chemicals. The sensor is designed with no moving parts, in order to eliminate failure that would typically be caused by oxidised bearings, torn impellers or deflector deformation. With its robust construction the EGE flow sensor is resistant to corrosion and can be used in liquids and air as well as in hazardous environments. “This is a welcome addition to the Countapulse Controls product line-up and complements the company’s existing range of sensing solutions which are all geared around reliability and longevity combined with uncompromising accuracy,” says Bryant. Countapulse Controls offers a comprehensive range of sensing, measurement, counting, switching, monitoring and positioning in- strumentation, with customer support provided through a round- the-clock technical advisory service hotline. The compact plug-and-play EGE SNS 450 thermodynamic flow sen- sor from Countapulse Controls provides for easy flow monitoring with low maintenance benefits. According to Gerry Bryant, Managing Director of Countapulse

Controls, sole agent in southern Africa for EGE Elektronik’s full range of flow sensors and con- trollers, the innovative screw-in adapter on the EGE thermodynamic flow sensor makes it usable in a variety of applications. The adapter is screwed into a T-piece or a welding sleeve and the probe is then secured in this adapt- er using a union nut. The integrity of the connection is sealed up to 100 bar.
