New-generation, high-performance thermal imaging cameras

calculate the distance to the target, before it focuses. It simply requires that the user places a red laser dot on the equipment to be inspected, the trigger is then pulled and released, delivering a perfectly focused image. TheTi 400 range features wireless connectivity enabling the cameras to connect with other wire- less devices. Free firmware allows for the capture of up to five additional measurements with the CNXWireless system directly a PC, Apple iPhone or iPad. These additional measurements help diagnose problems faster and provide additional data to create more comprehensive reports. The Comtest Group , Fluke’s authorised Test and Measurement Distributor for South and southern Africa, has introduced a trio of new Fluke high- definition, industrial-performance digital cameras, theTi400,Ti300 andTi200. Equipped with LaserSharp Auto Focus, while not new technology, Fluke has taken it a step further, guaranteeing perfectly focused images, every time. Users of infrared camera technology, rate focus as the single most important factor when conducting an infrared inspection. Without an in-focus image, temperature measurements are not accurate and problems could be overlooked. LaserSharp auto fo- cus technology on these Fluke IR cameras, indicates exactly where the focal point is by using a laser to Instrotech representing ELIS, manufacturer and supplier of flowmeters, has launched a battery-powered ultrasonic wa- ter meter intended for measuring flow rate instantaneously and pressure and consumption in water piping (standard EN 14154 for water works), water distribution systems and other industrial applications. The compact, highly accurate ELIS FLOMIC FL5024 has long-term stability over a wide range of measured values, and conforms to the IP68 class (Ingress Protection… classifies and rates the degree of protection provided against intrusion). The meter does not need any external power supply, does not include any moving parts and has significantly lower hydraulic losses. The technical parameters and other features of the FLOMIC water meter make it suitable not only for water consumption measure- ments but also for water-leak tracking and monitoring of the general condition of water-supply networks where the meter output signals can be connected via data transfer systems to remote computer control stations. The measurement method utilised by these meters is a single-beam transit-time pulse method, based on evaluation of the time needed for an ultrasonic signal to cross the dis- tance between two measuring transducers. In the standard version, the meter measures instantaneous flow rate (in m3/hour) and the total volume of water passed through the meter (in m3) in the given flow direction. The measured data is converted into passive pulse output signals. Ceramat retractable fittings for process spectroscopy

Knick's Ceramat retractable fittings allow for a safe automatic clean- ing of optical sensors without process interruptions and thus ensure reliable process control. Featuring an inde-structible ceramic sealing between sensor and process, Ceramat sensor lock-gates are suitable for extremely demanding measuring tasks in various fields of applications, where convention-al fittings fail. In addition, special Ceramat design is compatible with Hellma sensors. The sensor can be directly immersed in the stream. Measurements are no longer dependent on a conventional immersion tube. UV/VIS/NIR and Raman spectroscopy are established measuring technologies in process analysis. Optical immersion probes, directly adapted to pipe or reactor, usually serve as inter-faces to the process for these systems. Depending on the medium, however, the optical win-dow can be contaminated, leading to a significant impairment of measuring precision or even an altogether faulty measuring signal. To avoid this, measurement then has to be interrupted to cleanse the sensor or put on hold until the next cleaning interval of the production facility. Optical measuringmethods were therefore rarely used when dealing with difficult mediums such as glue or moist powder.Working with Hellma and tec5, Knick has solved this problem and specially adapted the tried-and- tested Ceramat retractable fitting and the cleaning and calibration system Unical 9000 to the requirements of spectroscopy with optical fibres and optical immersion probes. Any contamination of the optical window is detected by the spec-trometry software via the measuring signal. The probe can then be cleaned when necessary or automatically accord-

ing to a set cycle. The probe is rinsed with up to four cleaning or calibra-tion liquids and dried with pressurized air. Mecosa is the sole agent for Knick Elektro- nische Messgeräte in Southern Africa. Enquiries:Tel. 011 257-6100 or email measure@mecosa.co.za
