concept. This provides for redundant control measurements, which are particularly important given the high demands placed on a test bench. Intelligent diagnostics ensure that even the smallest changes in flow behaviour can be detected. The FLOWSIC600-XT Quatro is also unusually compact and can tolerate vibrations during transport – another prerequisite for a mobile test bench. The FLOWSIC600-XT product family Every ultrasonic gas flow meter in the FLOWSIC600-XT product family is designed for custody transfer gas flow measurement. The products meet national and international standards and guidelines for meteorology, explosion protection and pressure devices. Four variants are available and each gas flow meter is designed to satisfy special performance requirements, which are not always the same. This performance- based classification is helpful in focusing and solving tasks and meeting customers’ particular requirements. The classifications include: the FLOWSIC600-XT, -XT Forte, -XT 2plex and -XT Quatro. All versions can be installed easily into custody transfer applications with a nominal width for

SICK Automation’s FLOWSIC600-XT Quatro ultrasonic gas flow meter was installed in Big Elk Energy Systems’ mobile gas flow rate test bench – reportedly the first of its kind in the world. The test bench can be used to verify gas meters that are installed in high-volume gas installations without interrupting operations. The gas meter combines two measuring systems in one body, offering full redundancy in a compact enclosure. The FLOWSIC600-XT Quatro measures flow with the well-proven 4-path Westinghouse chordal configuration. It uses superior sensor transducer technology that provides high accuracy together with long-term performance stability. In addition, fully automated meter self-diagnostics (monitoring and warning of all diagnostic parameters – a first in the industry), ensure a device that significantly reduces measurement uncertainty and maintenance costs. The FLOWSIC600-XT Quatro can operate under environmental extremes of heat and ice and withstand water, sand and other adverse operating conditions. With the aid of state-of-the-art technology, two measuring devices are contained in a single unit using the 4+4 path

and vertical holes drilled into the housing exterior allow users to mount the unit on a wall without a mounting plate. The device can also be easily mounted on top-hat rails. Its protection class of IP 65 means the PS17 can be used indoors or out. The instrument comes with several options. In addition to a relay or measurement display, the PS17 can be equipped with a dc/dc converter, making it suitable for applications requiring galvanic separation. Delivery can also include certificates of calibration, either from DAkkS (Germany's national accreditation

Differential pressure transmitters are used for regulating HVAC systems andmonitoring filters. The devices can alsomonitor under- and overpressures in cleanrooms or mini-environments. halstrup- walcher, a respected manufacturer of measuring technology, has introduced the PS17 differential pressure transmitter – a device with useful options and features and suitable for basic applications. The PS17 measures differential pressures between ± 50 Pa and ± 10 kPa. The measurement precision of the piezo resistive silicon sensor system is extremely high at ± 1% of the final value and remains very stable over the long term – a marked improvement over its predecessor, the PS27. The switchable version of the PS17 allows customers to select the right measurement range from four different options. In addition, the output signal can be adjusted within a range of 0/4 … 20 mA or 0/2 ... 10 V via a DIP switch, or, if preferred, as a root- extracted characteristic curve. Users can also fine-tune the final value by ± 5% and perform zero-point calibrations by pressing a button on the interior of the housing. The new, robust housing provides for easy set-up. It snaps into place, making it easy to open – and that saves time. Two horizontal
