They ‘won a trailer’ from Schneider Electric!

At a Schneider Electric function on Monday, 12 February 2018, winners of the company’s Win-A-Trailer competition were announced. The Win-A-Trailer competition was launched last year in July. This four month competition (or campaign) took place from July to November 2017. Electrical contractors who purchased Schneider Electric wiring devices (S2000, S3000 or ZENcelo) to the value of R500 received one entry into the competition. Enquiries: Prisca Mashanda. SICK Automation officially opens new building

SICK Automation, one of 32 subsidiaries worldwide of the German company SICK AG, started in South Africa in 2010. It took three years to build its present home which was officially opened on 21 February 2018. Michael Mueller, Senior Vice President Global Business Centre Systems SICK AG, gave a short company history. SICK was founded in 1946 in Germany by a young engineer, Erwin Sick, who had many ideas for industry which were developed into products. Amongst his inventions is the first accident prevention light curtain for industry. Erwin Sick died in 1998 but the company is still owned by the Sick family. SICK focuses on

providing sensors for industrial applications across a diverse range of industries and has embraced Industry 4.0. Enquiries: Mark Madeley.
