New era for Martec

in plant reliability and infrastructure integ- rity,” said Coetzee. “We wish to partner with you, our clients, in order to enable you with class leading equipment and reliabili- ty solutions, which include technology and tools coupled with advisory, field services and training. We are very proud of our lat- est offering which includes integrated in- time monitoring and analytical solutions as part of a remote monitoring and diagnos- tics service, ensuring peace of mind for the plant owner.” Coetzee elaborated by explaining that companies that have critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure are often worried about the state of their assets with aging infrastructure and the lack of skills to man- age these assets. He further explained that Martec is in the perfect position to outsource this specialised skill-set for spe- cific asset classes. This is of great benefit to clients whose resources are stretched. Martec (Machine Assessment and Relia- bility Technology) has formally ushered in a new era by refreshing the tried and trusted red and white that its partners and clients have come to know. The revitalised look heralds the company’s new strategic direc- tion and innovative approach to condition monitoring. The new look ties in with the Pragma identity and demonstrates how Martec is firmly part of the Pragma group of compa- nies offering a comprehensive set of en-

terprise asset management solutions and services. The rebrand launch, which took place on February 21, was celebrated with clients, colleagues and partners who gath- ered at the Pragma Building in Waterfall Park, Midrand. Martec’s Managing Director Johannes Coetzee, and Pragma Group CEO Adriaan Scheeres unveiled the new brand to ap- plause from the audience. “Martec has embraced Industry 4.0 and is excited about the possibilities it offers for huge advances

Precision temperature scanner for critical measurements

Comtest is offering the Fluke 1586A Su- per-DAQ Precision Temperature Scanner. With up to 40 analogue input channels and scan rates as fast as 10 channels per second, the Super-DAQ is ideal for appli- cations such as thermal mapping, process sensor calibration, quality control testing, lifecycle testing, process monitoring and environmental testing. These are all com- mon processes in industries ranging from pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and food processing to aerospace and automotive. With the flexibility of both internal and external input modules, the 1586A is de- signed for use on the factory floor, where channel count and scan speeds are im- portant, and in the calibration laboratory where accuracy and quick input connec- tions are required. The 1586A can measure thermocou- ples, platinum resistance thermometers (PRTs), thermistors, dc current, dc volt-

age and resistance. It offers best-in-class temperature measurement accuracy of +/- 0.005°C for PRTs, 0.5°C for thermocouples and 0.002°C for thermistors. The Super-DAQ has a colour display that can chart up to four channels simultane- ously. It features four modes of operation (scan, monitor, measure and digital mul-

The Fluke 1586A temperature scanner provides for accurate measurements in a range of industrial applications.
