and has extensive experience through working for other construction companies before starting her own. The project with which Mercycon entered these awards was for the construction of 50 low cost houses in Moshawa for the Department of Human Settlements. At the beginning of the project the plans and chosen designs of the houses done by the engineer were approved successfully by the NHBRC, Municipality and the Department of Human Settlements. As the project progressed there were minor changes the designs that would ensure quality work would be delivered. The Moshana project was completed on time while the project’s quality is excellent.  RACHEL MOLAMU – MERCYCON

M ercycon is a 100% black women owned and that of others. Its primary focus is building, renovating and altering low cost houses, office parks, commercial buildings and government structures both for private and public sector in South Africa. Mercycon also takes pride in mentoring and empowering. Rachel Molamu, the managing member attained a quantity surveyor honours degree from the University of Witswatersrand. She also has been exposed to the built industry for over 10 years construction company based in Klerksdorp, North West Province. It is a steadily growing company, managed by one woman who is self- driven and passionate in bettering her future
