DINEO LETSHOLO – DINEO YA RONA TRADING

D ineo Ya Rona Trading is 100% black female-owned. Eight out of the first 15 employees that it hired were women between the ages of 25 and 60 with the added focus to empower women of all ages. From 2018 to 2019, the company employed 18 women out its staff complement of 30 employees, therefore a split of 60% female and 40% men. The aim is to empower women in a male dominated industry and illustrate that women can do just as well in a context previously seen as dominated by men. It aims to illustrate that women can be their own boss and acquire skills that can be used to earn a living. Dineo Ya Rona Trading is solely owned by Dineo Letsholo, a young woman from a village called Mabele A Podi in the Moses Kotane Municipality in the Northwest. The company, established in 2017, got its first contract from the Department of Environmental Affairs & Fishery under the programme of Wetland, and started working at Pilanesburg National Park. The project was to rehabilitate streams that were damaged due to soil erosion. 
