a Mentor to Ndlosimi. It is the responsibility of the Mentor to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Ndlosimi together with key personnel within the organisation to provide directed Mentorship. The Mentor and Ndosimi meet on a regular basis to monitor and assist in the development and mentorship process. A portfolio of evidence is maintained to track the progress made. Through the Needs Analysis, it was identified that Ndlosimi needed to upskill their trade skills. Thus it has been identified that skills training will be focused on bricklayers, plasters, plumbers, basic concrete and glazing. Two delegates from Ndlosimi have attended a CPD accredited glazing course facilitated by AAAMSA. Through the mentorship programme key employees have been training on site in concrete handling, bricklaying, plumbing and plastering. Formal training interventions have been planned to formally develop these skills within Ndlosimi. Motheo has been fortunate to offer Ndlosimi sub-contract opportunities on Motheo sites and joint venture opportunities with Motheo on Social House contracts, providing continuity of work and continuous skills development. The business development needs analysis revealed that training development is needed within the quality control and tendering aspects of the business. Cashflow forecasting and Contract Programming was further identified as training interventions. Ndlosimi have been exposed to the requirements of the ISO9001:2015 Quality Control System as implemented by Motheo. They have undergone ISO9001 adherence training and have implemented quality control checks into their production. They have worked actively in conjunction with Motheo on the Palm Ridge site developing their quality control procedures and skills. 

M otheo Construction Group and Ndlosimi Trading and Supplies entered into a mentorship agreement on 15 June 2018. With virtually no operating systems and a struggling profit margin, Motheo has assisted Ndlosimi develop a working operations model, provided financial training and backing as well as provided services in tax compliance and B-BBEE compliance which is now rated at level 1. Ndlosimi has since achieved growth in its turnover and has emerged as one of the leading subcontracting companies within Motheo projects with specialist work in plumbing and the construction of foundations for BNG houses. Motheo Construction Group established an Enterprise Development Policy in line with their value of ‘Truly Empowered’. Motheo have subscribed to the principle of Small Business Development. It is noted that 93% of emerging construction contractors are unable to sustain a business past a 3 year period. Research revealed that business/ management knowledge was the missing ingredient that needed augmentation. To this end, Motheo formulated a formal Enterprise Development Programme which the following in mind:

• To develop and mentor Developing Organisations in the Construction Industry and to assist them to become independent and sustainable • To have a model that is sustainable and simple to manage • To formalise the mentor process • To have an auditable paper trail on the development of each entity The focus is on the development of the organisation and its employees. This ensures better sustainability and more individuals benefit from the development job creation occurs. The development model achieves this by identifying key personnel within Motheo Construction Group who guide, coach and mentor those active in the same roles within the Developing Organisation. External training interventions by subject experts are sponsored when needs are identified, to ensure development and growth. In line with the above, Ndlosimi Construction and Supplies was selected through the selection criteria to participate in the Enterprise Development and Mentoring Programme. Motheo and Ndlosimi signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding detailing the objectives, roles and responsibilities of each party and the formally appointed programme. As the organisation develops, natural and sustainable
