minima introduces Scandi-inspired range

Its first pieces include a bar stool, coffee table and chair. Like the lights, they also fit to- gether making them easy to courier and assemble. All styles – lighting and furniture – are available in natural, white or black or can be customised to any colour required. Lights come with a choice of Hoi P’loy coloured cable as well as ceiling cups in a selection of finishes and lamp holders. Lamps are purchased separately.

Replacing the dark woods of yester-year with a simpler, fresher look; stylish ply- wood makes a Scandi-inspired statement in furniture, lighting and floors. Influenced by this trend and the global move to mini- malism, South African maker and designer of bespoke timber lighting and furniture, minima, recently released its second range of classic ply ceiling lights on the back of the success of its first collection. Consisting of seven new styles, the 2016 range is a progression of its popular Classic Bell and Flute shapes. Following the flow of natural curves, there’s the Lotus, Tendu or Sieza. For a more dramatic look, minima has introduced the Nook, Flex and Cusp. Both join the popular Ellipse and Classic ranges, all of which can be customised to fit any size or space. Made using fine grained CNC-cut Birch plywood, the pieces clip together using nothing but tension and compression. They are also available in flat-pack and can be assembled without the need for glue or screws. “Our first collection was well received by commercial and consumer clients and today our lights can be seen across the country hanging in Exclusive Books, Roco- Mamas, select Nandos, Visa’s head office and new retail malls in Port Elizabeth and Noordhoek,” says minima’s founder and designer, Jacques Cronje. “This support buoyed us to design a second range that expressed more movement and could be
