Consumers and professional consultants are often under the false impression that an LED power source is an endless supply of light and will never have to be replaced. This is not the case. An LED chip has a life span; however, it is longer than most of the older technologies. When buying an LED light fitting, or an LED lamp, you will find the life expectancy of the fitting on the packaging.This will give you an indication of how long the LED power source is expected to operate at full capacity until the LED chip will either fail, or cease to emit sufficient light. The warranty of the fitting will also often correspond with the life expectancy on the box.
