Lighting in Design Q4 2018

Faro Barcelona available through ELDC

The European Lighting and Design Centre (ELDC), founded by Marc Machtelinckx in 2001, started with the intention of bringing a new lighting design element to South Africa. At the moment, the company represents more than 15 European lighting manufacturers which are all market leaders in their specific fields and all have the following in common: original design and high quality. ELDC distributes their imports through a nationwide dealer network of lighting specialists. All ranges can be viewed in the three showrooms of ELDC (which are open for everyone); CapeTown (Woodstock), Johannesburg (Parkhurst) andWindhoek (Namibia). ELDC is proud to announce a new addition to its ranges. Faro Barcelona, one of Spain’s leading lighting brands, was founded in 1945 by the López Orejudo family. In 2003, new co-owner and CEO Xavier Martin, boosted the company's potential around the world with international presence in over 130 countries. Faro can be used in many areas, including residential, hospitality and commercial, and focuses on design

which is original and innova- tive. The CEOs of ELDC and Faro met this year at the bi- ennial Light + Building Fair in Frankfurt, looking for the best ways to bring the comfort of designer lights to people’s homes and businesses. There are definitely lights for everybody; lights that can fit in almost any space with any type of design. Faro is so passionate that it is confident enough to say that “We’re light”. The company's confi- dence is backed by having won various awards such as the German Design Award Winner 2018. The company shares the same vision as ELDC, which is to bring light to people in an impeccable way. The lights go through various tests to confirm the efficiency, resilience and safe- ty of each fitting. www.ELDC.co.za
