As part of its ongoing growth plans, Zest WEG Group will continue to focus on opportunities in more African countries, accordingtoitsnewchiefexecutiveofficer, Siegfried Kreutzfeld. “WEG has a very simple strategy: we believe in continued growth on all conti- nents,” says Kreutzfeld. “This is achieved bymaintaining close relationshipswith all our customers and ensuring that we de-

At full rotation, the transition outlet mates with the gasketed square inlet on the lidof ahopper or downstreamprocess equipment, allowing a pneumatically actu- ated slide gate valve tobeopenedand closed for total or partial dischargewith nodusting. The stainless-steel transition can be sup- plied with a square or rectangular outlet as shown, as well as with circular outlets, with corresponding gasketed flanges for installa- tion on downstream hoppers and receiving vessels. Non-product contact materials of con- struction can be specified in carbon steel with durable industrial finishes, or stain- less steel finished to industrial or sanitary standards. Other models are available for dumping of boxes, bins, pails and other containers. www.flexicon.co.za Botswana, Zimbabwe, DRC and Zambia. Today, the Zest WEG Group ranks among the top five operations in the global WEG Group. “Many of our products are well es- tablished across the continent,” adds Kreutzfeld. “However, we believe there is growth potential with both mature prod- ucts – such as low voltage motors, high voltage motors, and drives and switch- gear – as well as with other products we manufacture locally such as transform- ers, motor control centres, panels and generators.” Kreutzfeld highlights that major op- portunities exist with premium efficiency products across the range, includingWEG IE3 motor andWEG CFWdrives. “Key to the Zest WEG Group’s growth potential is our ability to offer a fit- for-purpose integrated solution,” says Kreutzfeld. “This is available across all sectors, but especially in power genera- tion, electrical infrastructure and mobile power and energy solutions. We will also be introducingWEG solutions for renew- able energy applications.” With 40 years of service in the global WEGGroup, Kreutzfeldbrings awealthof industry experience to the top job at the SouthAfrican business, which he joined in January 2019. Dust-tight drum tipper for difficult materials Flexicon has introduced a TIP-TITE™ drum tipper that is designed for use on poorly- flowing or agglomeratedmaterials, allowing the rapid transfer of free- and non-free-
flowingbulk solidmaterials and leaving themdust-free. Similar in performance to open chute tippers but with total dust contain- ment, the outlet on the downstream end of the tipper is nearly equal in area to that of the drum opening, allowing agglom- erated materials and large chunks to be discharged with minimal possibility of material bridging. Drums from 114 to 208 ℓ are positioned on the tipper platform, which is raised by an hydraulic cylinder, seating the rim against the circular end of the discharge transition. A
