SKF’s range of disc couplings in a variety of configurations, offer cost-effective, lubrication-free service inmediumto high torque applications that require torsional rigidity. The couplings consist of twohubs anda laminatedstainless steel discpack secured Disc Couplings enhance service in high torque applications by a series of fittedbolts retainedby nylon insert lock nuts. The couplings feature a capacity range of up to 178 kNm in a vari- ety of configurations including single disc, double disc and spacer for bothhorizontal and vertical mounting, delivering benefits for a wide range of applications.

The disc pack or spacer may be removed and re-installed radially, meaning the primemover anddrivenmachineneednot be moved at all. With hub pilot bores to simplify bor- ing to requirements, SKF disc couplings bring cost-effective high performance to a range of applications and industries, including: petro-chemical, direct drive fan drives, pumps and compressors; printing and paper, positioning; plastics; power generation, highspeed turbine typedrives, alternators, pumps; refrigeration, com- pressors; and marine. SKF is a leading global supplier of bearings, seals, mechatronics, lubrication systems, and services including technical support, maintenance and reliability ser- vices, engineering consulting and training. SKF is represented inmore than130coun- tries and has around 17 000 distributor locationsworldwide. Annual sales in2017 were SEK 77 938-million and the number of employees was 45 678. www.skf.com

“In many applications, the challenge posed by exposure to the elements re- quires quality parts that continue to operate smoothly,” says David Beggs, SKF Power Transmission’s global technical manager. “The SKF Disc Coupling offers robust performance, with all-steel ma- chined components that allow for high- speedapplications tobehandledwithease – and with two-plane dynamic balancing, higher speeds are also often permissible.” The couplings minimise the need for maintenance because they offer some allowance for misalignment and do not require lubrication. Single disc couplings accommodate angular offset, while dou- ble-disc pack unitswith a spacerwill allow for angular, parallel or combined offset.

SKF’s disc coupling range offers cost-effective, lubrication-free service in applications that require torsional rigidity.

Tectra Automation, part of the Hytec Group, has introduced the new SAX bell- shaped suction cup from Schmalz to its range of vacuum components. This is a single-piece suction cupwith a vulcanised connection nipple made of reinforced plastic. Available with various connection types, it comes in seven sizes with suction

viding product longevity. The cup’s long stroke allows it to conform perfectly to complexworkpieces and shapes, making it particularlywell-suited for thehandlingof carbodyparts, fordestackingmetalblanks and for loading and unloading both CNC and laser cutting machines. The suction area has been especially structuredtoprovidetheSAXwithgreater holding force. This means it withstands great lateral forces enabling the cup to handle oiled sheet metal extremely well, while its flexible sealing lip allows the suc- tion cup to reliably hold workpieces with rough surfaces. In addition to the longev- ity, Elastodur also resists ozone effects and deterioration caused by aggressive drawing oils. The addition of the SAX suction cup to its range extends Tectra Automation’s range of Schmalz vacuum cups and acces- sories to over 50. www.hytecgroup.co.za

upgraded to a significantly larger fleet to run on liquified natural gas (“LNG”) once Tetra4’s plant reaches operational status in 2019. “This agreement with SAB marks another largescale South African logistics operation to use new age fuels. The use of LNG not only drastically reduces carbon emissions, but also has the added advantage of improving the vehicle’s lifecycle maintenance and running costs, significantly reducing the operator’s total costs of ownership. Renergen wants to remainapioneerinalternativeenergysources and is proud tobe associatedwithSAB in such a landmark agreement,” says Renergen CEO, Stefano Marani. Renergen and Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/ NV, through their respective subsidiaries Tetra4 Proprietary Limited (“Tetra4”) and The South African Breweries Proprietary Limited (“SAB”), are pleased to announce the conclusion of an off-take agreement for the provision of natural gas by Tetra4 to SAB for use in displacing diesel use in trucks (the “Agreement”). The Agreement sees the initial roll out of compressed natural gas to a small fleet of trucks in the Gauteng area, using gas from Tetra4’s Virginia operations. This will be
