Energy efficiency through premium lubrication footprint and protect the environment. Premium lubrication can be leveraged to cut costs and extend mean-time-between failures, while simultaneously reducing the environmental impact of the opera tion. Traditionally, many businesses have focused on price when purchasing lubri cants, opting for the cheapest product, and considering this to be a cost-effective strategy.

A trend in industry is to chase after price when considering lubricant purchases. The resulting inability of the lubricant to eliminate metal-to-metal contact has adverse effects on equipment perfor mance, operating cost and ultimately the equipment’s productivity. “Significant per formance improvements can be achieved when lubricants are treated as assets,” says Craig FitzGerald from ISO-Reliability Partners. The company holds distribution rights for premium US lubrication brands Bel Ray and Royal Purple. “Both are phenom enal lubricant grades that significantly improve energy efficiency on large indus trial equipment,” says Craig. Another USA manufactured product it distributes is Seal Saver, a breakthrough in preventative maintenance tools for hydraulic cylinders. ISO-Reliability Partners is the sole exclu sive distributor for Seal Saver hydraulic cylinder protection solutions. Energy efficiency is increasingly im portant for industry to reduce its carbon

However, such an approach will cer tainly increase costs in the medium to long term. This is because cheaper lubricants often fail to provide the necessary protec tion against metal-to-metal contact. They essentially cause equipment to wear out more quickly, resulting in higher operating costs and lower productivity. Premium lubricants such as Bel-Ray and Royal Purple provide superior pro tection against wear and tear, extending the lifespan of equipment and reducing the need for costly repairs. They are also formulated to reduce friction and improve energy efficiency, helping businesses

reduce total energy consumption and operating costs. ISO-Reliability Partners is an own emblem manufacturer of class-leading micro fine oil filtration solutions, vacuum dehydration systems, automated water removal for compressed air, and high ef ficiency industrial air scrubbing. Its exper tise combines the sciences of lubrication, filtration and tribology. “We offer unique and dramatic cost-reduction solutions for our customers,” says Craig. www.iso-reliability.com

LGNL 2: the best-of-both industrial bearing grease

SKF’s new LGNL 2 is a mineral oil-based, anhydrous calcium soap-thickened industrial bearing grease that is highly suited to high load applications. The grease smartly combines the su perior performance in terms of water resistance and mechanical stability of lithium greases with the economic advantages of a calcium-based thickener. ments, the measuring rate can be set to 1, 3, 4 or 10 measure ments per second. The CPG1200 also has an energy-saving mode. In practice, operating times of up to 4 000 hours are possible without changing the battery. A data logger for up to 1-million data points can be integrated as an option and the stored measured data can be read via the integrated USB interface, which also supplies the instrument with power. Alternatively, the values can be transmitted wirelessly via Bluetooth ® . www.wika.co.za greases with a lithium thickener. Explaining grease compatibil ity, Eddie Martens, SKF Product Manager – MaPro, says, “It’s the extent to which two greases can temporarily be mixed with each other without showing extensive hardening or softening of the mixture.” Martens highlights the fact that hardening and softening can both endanger the lubrication of the bearing. Due to its unique and multi-faceted properties, this wide applica tions grease is also an effective alternative for extreme pressure lithium based greases. “LGNL 2 offers comparable performance to lithium greases at lower production costs which, combined with grease consolidation opportunities, delivers potential stock and subsequent cost savings for customers and end users,” adds Martens. “Moreover, LGNL 2 can measure itself against known EP greases both inside and outside of the SKF portfolio.” LGNL 2 industrial bearing grease from SKF is ideal for vibra tion applications and for use on conveyors, mills, crushers, and agricultural equipment. www.skf.com

is a result of thorough research and a lubricant blending process conducted by SKF. LGNL 2 offers good mechanical stability and pumpability, excellent water re sistance as well as corrosion and wear protection. LGNL 2 has also undergone successful compatibility testing with LGMT 2, LGEP 2, and LGWA 2 greases and is expected to mix well with other mineral oil-based

Digital pressure gauge for mobile applications

The WIKA model CPG1200 digital pressure gauge enables con venient and flexible setting of operating pressures, readjusting pressure switches and carrying out pressure monitoring – for example, leak testing during transport. The battery-operated CPG1200 has been designed spe cifically for use in mobile applications. Thanks to the durable plastic case and optional protective case cap, the instrument is robust and easily withstands vibrations and shocks in use. The proven measurement technology covers all common ranges up to -1.0 to 1 000 bar (gauge pressure) with an ac curacy of down to 0.25% of full scale. Depending on require
