W hen Air Solutions secured the sole regional distribu- tion rights for the globally renowned ELGi compressor brand in October 2016, it became apparent that the existing premises could no longer house the fast growing business and the com- pany relocated toa larger facility inBoksburg, Gauteng. “In order to maintain our relentless customer-centricapproachandourreputation for exceptional service, we needed premises that would complement this premiumworld- renowned compressor brand,” explains Inte- grated Air Solutions CEO, GrahamRussell. As testimony to ELGi’s ruggedness and serviceability, there are over 300 ELGi high- pressurediesel-drivencompressorsoperating within the sub-Saharan region, themajorityof which, notes Russell, are operational in South Africa. Key applications for these diesel-driv- en units include water well, exploration, post hole, down-the-hole (DTH) and auger drilling. This remarkable dual-pressuremachine enables the end-user todrill todeeper depths while using less fuel on average.” According to Russell, they have seen a notable increase in the demand for highly customised compressors, adapted specifi- cally to the customer’s individual need. “We recently replaced the counter-weight at the rear of a JCBexcavatormodified for blast hole drilling application with a customised ELGi 900 cfm14 bar diesel compressor, whichwas shortened to under 3.2 m,” he says.
