As part of the newly establishedAtlas Copco Portable Energy division, set up to consolidate the company’s portable compressors, generators, pumps and light towers businesses, Portable Energy has significantly expanded its dewatering pump offering. The division’s vice-president for pumps, Wim Moors, presents his expanded portfolio. capacity pumps. This includes the addition of three high-flowmodels to its PAS range of centrifugal dry prime pumps. The newpumps are capable of accommodating flows of up to 1 400 m 3 per hour. “Since acquiringVariscowe’ve established a consistent presence in the dewatering market,” said Wim Moors, vice-president for pumps at Atlas Copco Portable Energy. “The newsingle-brand portfolio provides our customers with the best choice and widest flexibilitywhen selecting a high-quality pump for their application.” Atlas Copco’s offering for the dewatering market comprises highly efficient wet and dry prime centrifugal pumps for construction, drainage and emergency applications, plus specialisedmodels forwell-point applications and pumping abrasive liquids and bentonite mud. A new piston positive displacement pump has also been launched that is specially designedtorundrywithoutdamaginginternal components. This pump is ideally suited for well-point applicationswhere the volume and depth of water is low. The new pump range is Atlas Copco- branded,althoughtheVarisconameisretained as part of the VAR range of centrifugal wet prime pumps and will therefore remain syn- onymouswithfirst-classdewateringsolutions. TheVariscobrandwillalsocontinuetobeused exclusively for the industrial pump range. To offer customers extra flexibility, all ranges can be supplied with a diesel engine or an electric motor as part of Atlas Copco’s E-Pump concept. Furthermore, up to sixmod-
