The Wirtgen Group South Africa will use bauma CONEXPO AFRICA 2018 to display its innovative solutions for road construction and rehabilitation as well as for mining and mineral processing from across its group of internationally oper- ating companies, comprising Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm, Kleemann, Benninghoven and Ciber. Having exhibited at the two previous editions of the show in 2013 and 2015, the Wirtgen Group South Africa rates bauma CONEXPO AFRICA as a great platform to showcase its latest technologies available, says Waylon Kukard, Sales Manager. Truck manufacturer Scania will be featuring its complete construction solu- tions, comprising a wide application range and extended services. Vehicles on display will include the P410CB8x4MHZ brick carrier; the P410CB8x4MHZ CTS 15 m³ tipper; the P360CB6x4EHZ 12 m³ tipper; the P310CB6x4MSZ 6 m³ mixer; the P360CB6x4EHZ 16 000 litre water tanker; and the G460CB8x4EHZ mining dumper. The mining dumper is built for tough mining operations; the vehicle provides an increased payload of up to 25 % com- pared with its predecessor, while offering fuel efficiency of about 9 ℓ/hour depend- ing on the operation. The show is expected to have sev- eral national pavilions and a number of industry associations will be participating including the Southern African Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (SAIMM), the Botswana Chamber of Mines, the Contractors Plant Hire Association (CPHA) and the Construction and Mining Equipment Suppliers’ Association (CONMESA). Exhibitors are drawn from a large number of countries, with probably the biggest number of foreign participants – to judge from the exhibitor list – com- ing from China and India.
