SUPPLY CHAIN NEWS – CRUSHING & SCREENING

Pilot Modular products take Metso to heart Pilot Crushtec’s award-winning Pilot Modular range of semi-mobile crushing and screening products, which have served local and export markets over the past two decades, will now feature Metso crushing and screening equip- ment as a standard. This exciting new format will see related prices,” Scherf says. The all new Pilot Modular product line-up includes the Metso C96 and the

C106 jaw crusher units, which are robust pieces of machinery that can withstand various applications and have been proven at cutting operating costs. Adding to the

Metso equipment integrated with sup- porting structures that are designed and built by Pilot Crushtec at the Jet Park manufacturing facility, CEO of Pilot concept, Scherf explains, will remain unchanged in its role, providing an affordable and quick alternative to costly, bespoke and time-consuming plant designs and equipment. “Familiar with the stresses and strains encountered daily, the engi- neering team focused on the need to accommodate the harshest working conditions that Africa has to offer. As a case in point, the new generation assemblies are built from heavy duty steel sections, welded to exactingly high standards and assembled with painstaking precision, offering the client better lasting quality at market Crushtec, Sandro Scherf, says. The traditional Pilot Modular Processing equipment supplier, ELB Equipment, has launched a three-shaft screen which is capable of dealing with overburden for use in rehabilitation or to stockpile materials as a saleable by-product of mining. The new Powerscreen Warrior 2100 is able to reduce processing cycles by dealing with unprocessed overburden and significantly shorten production times in the separation of materials either for rehabilitation or as saleable commodities. Its efficient handling of materials and economical power plant derives further saving for miners or contractors onsite. According to Heath Dickson, the machine is specially designed for work alongside mining operations in differ- ent terrains and has flexible screen- ing options and generous stockpile heights to accommodate a wide range of loading types. It also offers quick

The GP330 cone crusher can function in a secondary position but performs outstandingly well in tertiary applications.

Pilot Modular line are the HP 200 and HP 300 cone crushers. “The 200 and 300 are efficient in secondary and tertiary crushing, with the exceptional big stroke, high-speed and cavity design combination, they ensure a constant product grading with very good product shape. The two cone crushers also ensure continuous and safe production at the lowest cost per ton,” says Scherf. Rounding up the crushers is the GP330 cone crusher which can function in a secondary position but performs setup times and an improvement with quick screen media changes when required. “Being able to effectively screen overburden reduces the requirement to blast, eliminating the associated envi- ronmental impact whilst also saving time and money. We can now utilise overburden material and turn it into a valuable product,” says Dickson. “The Warrior 2100 uses Powerscreen’s triple shaft technology which was first developed for the suc- cessful Warrior 2400 screen, a model widely used in South Africa and across the world. The triple shaft technology, unique to Powerscreen heavy duty mobile screens, is designed so the 4,8 m x 1,5 m screen box is highly effec- tive and efficient while maintaining exceptional throughput productivity.” “The extreme screening accelera- tion offers the Warrior 2100 screen

outstandingly well in a tertiary applica- tion where the feed rate is uncontrolled and inconsistent. There is also the addition of three screens which include the CVB1540, CVB1845 and the CVB2060. All three screens are user-friendly and easy to maintain. The CVB2060 comes with an extra fourth deck, making it possible for the customer to screen out four products and use the top deck to circulate material back to the crusher. l improved capabilities over its class rivals, especially in sticky scalping applications. With amplitudes and accelerations in excess of 16 mm and 6 g respectively, the Warrior 2100 triple shaft screen is more prolific at remov- ing and breaking up clay materials than any of its class rivals,” says Heath. l
