THE GAME CHANGER HAS ARRIVED

That was until Spazio Lighting launched a new addition, the Premium, to its already wide range of GU10 lamps. This is the next generation of LED lamps with a never be- fore seen CRI of 98, giving the perfect colour rendering ability available for an LED light source. The 7.5 W Premium GU10 lamp is dimmable and comes in 2700 K and 4000 K versions. Users can also choose between a 10° and 36° beam reflector and, to top it all, the lamp comes with a 3-year warranty. This lamp is ideal for environments where the quality of artificial lighting is of utmost importance. Any project or existing installation can be fitted with this lamp, which will produce the best colour rendition on the market.

GU10 lamps were first introduced into the South African market around 2002 as a replacement for the GU5.3 low voltage lamp. The beauty of the GU10 lamps was that they were 230 V and did not require a transformer. What was more, one could purchase GU10 conversion kits to convert GU5.3 fittings to accommodate a GU10 lamp. The original GU10 lamps were 50 W dichroic and the drawback was the short lamp life of 100 hours. This GU10 technology was improved with the introduction of the LED version, originally only available in 3 W and later in 5 W and 7 W versions and higher. GU10 LED lamps are now available in dimmable and non-dimmable ver- sions, different colour temperatures ranging from 2700 K to 6500 K, with different beam angles and a CRI of as high as CRI<90.
