THE EVOLUTION OF THE SATURN

I n recent years, Spazio Lighting has introduced the Saturn range with different size and wattage op- tions, including 6 W, 12 W, 1 8 W and 24 W. This product has been very popular in the retail, commer- cial and domestic sectors because of its easy appli- cation, high quality light output and different wattage options. The Saturn is available in 3000 K and 4000 K and more recently even a 6500 K version. The Sat- urn is available in a round recessed and slim ver- sion (for recessed or surface applications), and also in square recessed and surface mounted versions. Based on the success and popularity of this prod- uct range, Spazio Lighting has decided that it is time to introduce a new version of the Saturn to its prod-

uct range. This new offering will be called the Saturn CTC and it is a first-of-its-kind to the South African market. CTC can be defined as Colour Temperature Changing, which in essence means that the colour temperature of the fitting can be changed by the installer to suit the specific lighting requirements of the space. The Saturn CTC will be available in the following versions: • Saturn recessed mounted version available in 6 W, 12 W, 18 W and 24 W options. These fittings also come in a dimmable and non-dimmable version. • Saturn Slim (recessed or surface mounted) available in an 18 W and 30 W version.

When these fittings are being installed, they can be set as either 3000 K, 4000 K or 6000 K de- pending on the lighting needs of the space.

The way in which this is done is by adjusting the switch at the back of the fitting to the required colour temperature before fitting it to the ceiling. This fea- ture gives the consumer the flexibility of changing the colour temperature in future if they feel that the selected colour temperature is no longer suitable to their lighting requirements, instead of replacing the entire fitting. Spazio Lighting foresee the new Saturn CTC range of colour changing fittings to be a popular choice amongst lighting designers, electrical con- sulting engineers, architects and interior designers looking to install high quality, cost effective LED lighting in a commercial or retail space.
