OPPLE LIGHTING GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

D uring the month of May, Opple Lighting em- barked on a social responsibility tour around Gauteng where a number of donations were handed out to needy schools and organisations. Rakesh Vassanjee, Opple Lighting South Africa’s marketing manager, says that the company wanted to give back to the community, and create a better way of life, just by making a difference, in providing better lighting. “We wanted to be able to help reduce the cost of energy bills, so that the funds may be used to develop and grow other functions in the or- ganisations. Opple Lighting has always provided a ground for this space to give back to the communi- ties, in order to make difference.” The initiative had been planned from last year, and as social responsibility is carried out globally by Opple Lighting, it was not something new to the or- ganisation. “We strive for an experience beyond your expectation, to make sure you are successful with Opple,” says Vassanjee. “Our motto, ‘See Beyond’, allows us to look ahead, and create a ripple effect to do good.” Consultations were held with each organisation to ensure that the products provided were what was required. “After we had completed the assessments of the various premises, we arranged for suitable products, such as panels for classrooms, ceiling

lights for boys’ and girls’ living spaces and flood- lights for playgrounds so that safety was no longer an issue,” he says. “We also ensured that in every project, we converted the old traditional lighting to new LED lighting.” In total, Opple donated around R2 million of stock to the various organisations. LED LUMINAIRES

OPPLE designed the ideal lighting solution using OPPLE LED Performer Highbay and LED EcoMax Waterproof units which were used throughout the whole warehouse. LED Performer Highbay units were installed in ceiling areas, particularly with high roofs. The versatile Highbay Performers are available with a variety of beam angle options and light intensity settings which means they are ideal for use in industrial buildings with multiple ceiling heights and complicated layouts - fewer luminaires can be used compared to traditional systems without compromising on light levels.
