BEKA Schréder is proud to have sponsored the upgrade of Daliwonga Secondary School’s Science Laboratory, which was opened on 27 February in Dube, Soweto, says the company’s Enock Zikalala. “The Daliwonga Secondary School was built in 1974 and had not been upgraded since. Secondary School”, and this led to the decision to contribute to the community by refurbish- ing this school’s science laboratory, which was in desperate need of an upgrade. “It is now a state-of-the-art science labora- tory, with new furniture, laboratory cabinets, and apparatus,”he says, adding that this has had a positive impact on everyone involved. BEKA Schréder’s Socio-Economic Develop- ment (SED) vision and strategy is to invest in community development initiatives that have integrity and are able to sustain themselves for years to come with positive outcomes. This SED project focuses on education, its aimbeing to afford both learners and educators an enabling environment in which they can deliver optimumperformance and understanding in science. “We are proud to have helped the Daliwon- ga Secondary School with the sponsorship of this laboratory and we hope this will create a better learning environment andmotivate students to excel in their studies; and assist the school to achieve its vision of a 100% pass rate,”says Zikalala.
