Bell broadens Kolbelco relationship Bell Equipment has broadened its partnership with Japanese excavator specialist Kobelco Construction Machinery Co Ltd, with the introduction of three compact mini excavator models ranging from 5, 5 t to 13, 5 t to complement the six standard machines launched in June 2017. The mini excavator range includes a 5,5 t (SK55SRX), a 7,5 t (SK75SR) and a 13,5 t (SK135SR) machine. “All three models feature a short rear swing that reduces the turning radius for superior manoeuvrability in limited spaces, making them ideally suited to the compact construction and forestry industries,” says Bell Equipment’s product marketing manager Stephen McNeill. “With Kolbeco leading the industry in terms of short rear swing excava- tor innovation, we are confident that these machines will gain strong market acceptance locally, particularly since the 5,5 t and 7,5 t segment is growing in Southern Africa and the 7,5 t and 13,5 t machines are well matched for forestry applications.” He adds that the mini excavators share the same machine-efficient technology as

their larger counterparts, enabling them to meet Kolbeco’s design intent for greater performance capacity and improved cost efficiency, while taking due care for the environment. www.bellequipment.com Bell Equipment and Kolbeco celebrated their new partnership at the recent bauma CONEXPO AFRICA 2018 exhibition by performing their customary Japanese kagami-biraki, or barrel-breaking ceremony, to represent harmony and good fortune.

Metso able to respond to diverse needs Metso has introduced the new MHC™ Series hydrocyclone which provides a wide range of grinding circuit classification duties, ensuring maximum uptime and recovery to cus- tomers. “We identified a gap in our grinding system offering, and with the addition of our cyclone range, we are now in a good position to offer a complete grinding solution with the requisite process guarantee from one source,”says Charles Ntsele, GM for Capital Equipment Sales, Africa and Middle East. Designed to optimise mining applications, the newMHC™ Series represents the next generation of hydrocyclones. Tested rigorously in the field with successful results, the product offers significant advantages over previously available technologies. The new range focuses on enhanced process performance, superior wear component design, and improved ease of maintenance. “We believe that this latest addition to Metso’s product portfolio will further enhance our ability to offer superior solutions that have a positive impact on our customer’s bot- tom line,” adds Ntsele. The internal geometry of theMHC™ series has been developed to promote smooth flow of the material from the inlet into the hydrocyclone, minimising liner wear and increasing throughput. The unique single component conical section eliminates the need for multiple conical section housing and liner parts, thereby increasing wear life and keeping downtime to aminimum. Metso’s improvedmanifold design ensures accurate feed distribution includ- ing overflow and underflow collection frommultiple hydrocyclones operating in parallel. The new product improves Metso’s existing equipment offering, which now covers the supply of entire grinding circuit systems to our customers. The MHC™ Series is avail- able in seven different sizes with diameter ranging from 100 mm to 800 mm. Each size has a range of vortex finder and apex inserts to fine tune the classification performance. The story of innovation and efficiency continues through the entire Metso process equipment line. Metso’s world-class wet fine classification technologies help to increase efficiency, capacity and profitability in customer operations. This next generation tech- nology will surely allow the mineral processing industry to reach new heights. www.metso.com/products/MHC-hydrocyclones
