readings and the last four calibrations, for up to one year, depending on selected logging intervals between 1 and 60 min- utes. Calibration data and logged data can both be downloaded via a USB interface. The long-lasting light source and automat- ic ultrasonic cleaning of the measuring cuvette provide for minimal wear, high long-term stability and short downtimes, minimising maintenance requirements. KROHNE is a full-service provider of process measuring technology for the measurement of flow, mass flow, level, pressure and temperature as well as an- alytical tasks. Headquartered in Duisburg, Germany, the company is present on all continents and has a South African office in Midrand, Gauteng. Enquiries: KROHNE. The new OPTISYS TUR 1060 optical tur- bidity measuring system from KROHNE has a number of applications in the water industry. It is used for monitoring quality or filter monitoring in drinking water, or in cooling water circuits or demineralisation processes. The analytical system employs 90° scattered light technology and is compli-

ant to US EPA 180.1 and EN ISO 7027. It comes with 4… 20 mA and Modbus RS485 communication and features fast measuring response time, simple and cost-efficient calibration, data logging, and low maintenance requirements. Although OPTISYS TUR 1060 shares components with its predecessor OPTI- SYS TUR 1050 and can be retrofitted, the system has been completely redesigned. It is easier to use, with cursor keys and simple start-up and operation that do not require special knowledge. For flex- ible use, the measuring ranges can be adapted according to the application and the system can be calibrated in less than five minutes, using reusable calibration cuvettes which prevent contact with dan- gerous chemical solutions. The new system has an integrated data logger for storing measurement
