Ambient light and open space Inside the villa, ARRCC’s lighting choices balance the lofty scale of the architecture with a sense of warmth and intimacy. The high, pitched ceiling in the lounge area draws the eye upward, accentuating the spacious double-volume entrance. Clerestory windows flood the lounge with daylight, creating an airy quality that resonates with the vast landscape beyond. ARRCC strategically used recessed lighting within the ceiling beams, softening the effect of the high ceilings while highlighting the natural textures of timber and concrete. These ambient lights frame the room without overpowering it, emphasising a sense of grounded luxury. The combination of natural and ambient lighting brings versatility to the space, accommodating both vibrant daytime gatherings and relaxed evening settings.
